I did mention when I posted Mars and Lei's Sagada E-session that we have other interesting stuff during our trip there. Well, how about IR photos? Yes, we have introduced this very surreal-looking concept in our engagement photosession as well. =)
Infrared photography is a technique that's mostly used in landscapes and in still photography because of the complexity of using an IR filter makes it hard to use it on moving subjects. But if you're a hardcore IR photographer or fan, there is a way to actually convert your camera to be IR permanently and makes IR shooting much easier.
This couldn't have had a better timing. It was actually Lei who put the idea in the table because she knew that the lanscapes of Sagada will be perfect for IR photographs. At the same time, my friend and orgmate, Vernes Go, who is a very very good in IR photography (check out his work here) just had his newly converted camera delivered to him and he was kind enough to have us try it out! =) how cool is that? well, not as cool as the fact that Vernes is also going to be a Metrophoto Groom next year and we said that if it goes well, then maybe they can have IR photos in their prenup too! =)
So there it went. There were times that we were carrying 5 camera bodies during the shoot. =) hahaha.
Here are the photos and some behind-the-scenes shots - in IR too of course! =)
Start of Day 2. We just started to walk and the guides are figuring out where we're heading first. The cool thing about this photo is not that Lei's sunglasses looked like reading glasses but check out the trees and sky at the back! awesome right? ;)
wWow you can see my rstrap very obvously in this one... and it seems like it's snowing! yeepee!
Mighty Chax and his back-up photographers... hahaha
I so love this shot! don't you? There are Lei and Butch (yes, I was wrong, I thought it was Bruce and I'm sorry) doing some touch-ups on the make-up which ironically won't be noticed in the IR shots! =P
Here are the engagement session IR photos.
