When I was a fairly new wedding photographer, Macau was one of the cities I got the chance to visit a few times. Being a city guy, I loved the place. It was packed with so many things and it has been expanding conitnuously. Then all of a sudden, for at least 5 years, I never got the chance to visit again. Not until a couple of weeks ago when Rhea and Eric decided that the best place to have their pre-wedding photos taken is in Macau – the place where their love all started. I was very excited to go back. I missed the place and I felt I had grown so much as a photographer since the last time I flew in the city.

Macau didn’t change, it was as teeming with all the energy and expectedly much developed than the last time I was around. And like most of our destination shoots, we made sure that we showcase what the place is all about. We want to feature the familiar in an unfamiliar way. We wanted everyone to see the obvious Macau in a not-so-obvious way. It was the more difficult way, but a more fulfilling one. So we did the typical round of the Ruins of St. Paul, Senado Square, the towering casino of Macau island, the Macua Tower, and the church at Penha Hill. You’ve probably seen photos of these places so many times already but we do invite you check them out from our perspective, particularly the Church at Penha Hill where at a given time there could 15 couples having their pre wedding photos taken the same time. It was a challenge we embraced not only because we missed the place but because that is what each and every Metrophoto couple deserves – careful planning and a distinct execution. Enjoy the photos.
