For today’s wedding feature, were bringing you to Dumaguete, a beautiful city south of the Philippines – a good one-hour plane ride from Manila. Nicknamed The City of Gentle People, Dumaguete lives up to it and more. One can just imagine how ideal it would be for weddings to be celebrated in a place of such people. And indeed that’s the case for the wedding of Joni and Nikos – an event full warmth and love. But don’t let that mislead you in anyway, gentle doesn’t mean they don’t party, in fact, they party quite hard.

Joni and Nikos met while the former travelled to the UK for a work assignment. Everything from then on was all about a love that had to close a distance that is worlds apart. It was really nice to see that they decided to get married in both their hometowns – Joni in Dumaguete and Nikos in Athens. This way everyone get to enjoy the contrasting cultures. I love how local elements like a sari-sari store was put up which ‘sold’ all the favourite things of the couple and how the entoutage used a jeepney as a mode of transportation during the wedding. You can see how that jeepney, which is an icon of the Philippines, became such a nice prop on their groupshot.
