The search for that unique prenup location has taken us farther and farther over the years. Because of sheer ubiquity, shooting where it is near and convenient has just lost its appeal. In fact this year, many of our shoots require more than a single flight to get to.
This is true even for local shoots. Today’s feature of Jean and Steve pre-wedding will take us to Biri Island, the very tip of Visayas in the Philippines. It’s not as far as it is hard to get to as it required a plane, a van, a boat and a motorcycle – totalling just under 6 hours – for us to reach our destination. If that doesn’t paint a feature of something being far-flung, maybe having just a handful of places to stay and only several hours of electricity a day, will.
The place may be remote but the provisions for shooting are stunning. I have not seen a place with such a combination of landscapes and structures. And no better couple could have handled and graced it than Jean and Steve. They were determined, they were ready and they were beautiful. The only thing that outshined the allure of the place was Jean – I couldn’t have asked for a feistier and a more beautiful Metrophoto bride :)
So please enjoy these photos. They are as far unique and beautiful as any place you can find in the Philippines.
Special thanks to Mickey See and Jay Wee for Jean’s make-up and to Sidney Yap for styling.
