I’ve often heard that there are doctors who are the aggressive type and doctors who are the conservative type. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it is bad but really I think it depends on such complicated factors which as a photographer, I would have no idea about. What I’m an expert in though is making sure that when doctors get married, they get the most gorgeous photographs possible wherever in that conservative to aggressive type range they fall.
Today’s feature gives us the best of both worlds. One would think that it is too conservative and expected that we will shoot a pre-wedding in a hospital for a couple who worked and met there. True enough, but it is the way we shot there that showed the aggressive and fabulous side of Elaine and Mik. We diagnosed all the unique (and allowable) spots around the hospital where we can shoot – from hallways, to emergency entrances, to rooftops and fire exits, then gave every shot we took a treatment that is both unconventional yet strikingly elegant.
Elaine, or Ate Elaine as what I call her despite me being older, is very close to me – she is the third of three siblings who have all been Metrophoto couples. The level of ease and fun (albeit the added pressure) is heartening andI truly enjoyed seeing her take her turn to pose for me. So please enjoy the photos, you may have seen pre-wedding photos shot in hospitals before, but not in perspectives like these.
