Wedding in the Philippines, more so here in Metro Manila, happen in the most expected places. When I say that, I mean it’s common knowledge where the best and most elegant venues are and those are primarily where the events are booked. I could also say that arguably there are less than ten churches and even fewer hotels/venues where one could hold a real classy wedding – compared to probably a more than a hundred in the Bay Area in the US alone. So it’s not like it’s anybody’s fault, that just is simply how everything is right now.

Now once in a while, couples who have the willingness and are sensible enough to be different, somehow pulls a rabbit out of a hat and surprise us with locations to shoot that are unlike anywhere we’ve shot before. Case is point is today’s wedding feature. I really thought it was brilliant of Mark and Kathleen to arrange everything for us to be able to shoot their portrait session right around the steel-laden globe monument in front of the SM Mall of Asia. For a country smothered with security guards everywhere that you need a permit to shoot almost anywhere, this sort of art piece have remained “untouched” . So yes, it was awesome.

Add to this lovely idea an equally lovely couple and you have a formula to conquer the world – one globe at a time. hehehe. Enjoy the photos :)

I’m not going to lie, Metrophoto gets a lot of credit for coming-up with stylishly beautiful and elegant weddings each and every time. And again, I’m not going to lie and tell you that of course we appreciate getting such compliments. But let’s stretch the truth for a little bit more here – while it’s true that we do our very best to come-up with such wonderful photographs every wedding, for most of the time, half of the work has been done already. And when I say half of the work I mean the other suppliers will do a fantastic job on their own field of expertise AND I also mean the couple is inherently classy and attractive already to begin with. Put all these factors together and you have a recipe for a wedding that’s all timeless and elegant but still unique in their own way.

Looking at the big picture, everything actually boils down to the couple. It is their choice of suppliers and it is them (among their family and friends) that are in the photographs. So yes, credit us all you want with such masterpieces and we won’t say no, but we’re just equally grateful that we are blessed with couples whose taste and personality create perfect harmony with us – so we give all the credit back to them.

With all those being said, we’re here to feature the captivatingly exquisite wedding of Sonny and Abby. It is as effortless as it is stunning.

Despite the thousands of brides getting married every year, a lot of people can clearly see the distinction of a Metrophoto Bride. Be it their passion to be unique, their desire for the finer and better things in life, their understanding of what really is beautiful and creative, their will-power to do what seemingly was impossible, or oppositely their lack of effort in being beautiful and stylish. These and a lot of other wonderful things set the Metrophoto Bride apart from everyone else and these are what we are bringing forth in our The Metrophoto Bride campaign.

This campaign is starting out as a series of posters that each and every Metrophoto Bride will have, highlighting what makes them amazingly different from any other bride. In the future, the campaign will aim to develop a community that not only prides itself of being distinctively accustomed to a higher-standard but also of being an asset to the environment and the people around it.

In the sad reality of life, or of human nature, there will always be people who will try to cheat, deceive, or abuse others just to get ahead or make money. This is true even in the seemingly all-pleasurable world of the wedding industry. Boo and Jen is a couple I almost never had, this despite Metrophoto being their primary supplier of choice. The initial planner they hired already ‘poisoned the well’ even before they met me by telling them lies upon lies on how bad our service is. But like many other Metrophoto brides, Jen knew what she really wanted that even after meeting several other photographers (forced to her by the said planner), there was no stopping her to see me personally.

Of course to her delight, we didn’t turn to be the beast, or the frog, or the snake that we were wrongfully accused of – we were more of the knight-in-shining-armor (or camera) that would come to rescue them from the evil paws of their slanderous planner. hahaha. We set off to revamp their supplier line-up and gave them, as always, the best service we can provide and a wedding they will never forget.

Boo and Jennifer are both dear to me, I’m grateful for their confidence and appreciate their determination to find out the truth and stand by what they believe and want. I’m also stoked that we were able to have the first ever shoot inside the opulent yet very exclusive Salon de Ning at the Manila Peninsula where they both rocked every shot :) Enjoy the photos :)

Recently had a project with one of the country’s premiere developer, Century Properties and the one-stop online resource for the stylish, yet practical, Pinay bride, BridalBook to shoot a promotional engagement session of real couple JP and Loni. We were given full access to all their model units of the Azure Residences project – yes that one which Paris Hilton took part in designing.

The whole experience was a blast – the whole team were ecstatic :) All the units were elegantly designed that it would be hard to choose a favorite, not that I have to – but what if they offer me one? hahaha. Century Properties are leading the way in high-end and cutting edge design projects and has collaborated with the world’s best (Donald Trump and Versace among others). Similar to what we do with Metrophoto but because on a much much grander scale. Very inspiring :) The most fun part was in shooting in the indoor pool which we had to somehow show as a real one in the photos as the real one is yet to be completed.
