The Wedding of Donna and Ivan

When Donna booked me for her wedding, I realized that we will have a quick turnover. It would only be a couple of months before her wedding and they also wanted to shoot the pre-wedding session just days before that. But what really helped in this situation is the same reason Donna booked late. She initially settled for a photographer but later on decided to just go with her guts and book us. This is the same gutsy person that allowed us to shoot beautiful and unconventional shots, both during the pre-wedding and wedding shoots, without much fuzz. I’m always grateful for the clients that book us, while they are all different, they are also all the same in making each and every experience with them worthwhile. Hope you enjoy this wedding feature in Pallazo Verde that’s a little more different and a little more beautiful than those you normally see in the same location. Aika and Joseph and Barcelona Wedding Feature

“Eso si que es la vida” is how one say ’Now that is the Life’ in Spanish. It is one of the very few things I remember from my college Español class, a phrase people use to simply admire life to the fullest. I find it doubly significant to today’s feature. Not only are we sharing a wedding so embracing of life and of love but also a wedding that was celebrated in most wonderfully-art-full city of Barcelona. Witnessing this wedding is like being in a fairy tale. There is the place, the castle, the princess, the prince, and yes, even the magic. It is what wedding dreams are made of – no evil step mother, no witches, no wolves and no sign whatsoever of Cersei or should I say the White Walkers since the venue of the reception is Castell de Santa Florentina or the actual Horn Hill. I have been to so many weddings but taking part in something as grand, as far and as amazing as this, put together so impeccably is beyond my comprehension. What Aika and Jo was able to accomplish left me wide-eyed and my camera, gasping for more memory. If such great love is to be distinguished, it should be definitely be like this. Covering a unique wedding is not without its trouble. It was a challenging undertaking but very much fulfilling nonetheless. It is true what they say that if something is easy, everyone does it and this is the opposite of […]

The Wedding of Jeanette and Jeff

The wedding of Jeanette and Jeff has been one of my most anticipated. Mickey See is a good friend and when it is his little sister who’s going to get married, that calls for something else – the best of the best suppliers and at the very least, the best of the best in the hair and make-up industry. Jeanette is a wonder. She is one of the most beautiful brides that I have ever shot. Form any angle and in any pose she would nail it as gorgeously as a Roger Federer backhand. I immensely enjoyed working with the weddings of co-suppliers and this one is no different: It was touching, it was glorious, and it was very fun. And I appreciate the extreme kindness that Jeannette and Jeff extended to us. They treated with great consideration, like family and I will forever be grateful for that. Enjoy the photos. The Pre-Wedding of Honey and Ches

Sharing with you all the photos from the pre-wedding shoot of Honey and Cheson. It was quite an unusual shoot because this one was specifically envisioned to be a night shoot – something a lot more complicated to execute and something a lot of photographers dread. Then the sky added in a good amount of rain for an extra challenge, but none of those would damp our spirits. From Paco Park, to the Bay Leaf Hotel, to the Starbucks in Intramuros and finishing up in the Ayuntamiento Building, it was a different but interesting experience to shoot Manila at night while it was raining. Very nostalgic Filipino movies when I was a kid. Thanks to Honey and Ches for the brilliant pre-wedding idea and for the equally brilliant showing in front of he camera. Special thanks to Elaine Ching for Honey’s make-up. Enjoy the photos.

Kristine and Gasper | A Slovenia Pre-Wedding Special

This year, I’m traveling to eight new countries. That’s is probably a record and a rarity considering that in recent years, we just tended to go back to the countries that are our favorites. Of those eight, I’ve only managed to share a complete post of our shoot in Morocco last March. And those who have seen that know how exotically amazing that was. This time we shift our focus to Slovenia for Kristine and Gasper’s wedding and pre-wedding shoots. When Kristine asked me if I can travel to Slovenia to shoot, I honestly had to use google to know where exactly it is. I’m not bad in geography, so for some place I had to google, I knew it will be an adventure enough for me to fly and work even if it falls on my birthday. Kristine is a Metrophotobride. Feisty, sophisticated, and doesn’t only have a knack for the unique but also makes it happen. So Slovenia, where Gasper is from, was the easy choice of location. The hard part was where in Slovenia. I was amazed with how developed Slovenia is and how it is also very preserved. Kristine had been all over Slovenia and she has listed the best and the most un-mainstream places for us to shoot – this means that Lake Bled and Ljubljana are not included. She saved the quaintest and prettiest town for their wedding and the rest we would tour and shoot at for their pre-wedding. The only condition was […]

The Wedding of Natassha and Charles

If there is one thing I hate the most, it is waking up very early in the morning. Ok maybe next to negativity and mayonnaise, but it’s up there with the things I hope do not exist in life. My profession as a photographer is as ideal as it can get, but sometimes it does have days where we are required to wake-up much earlier than the usual. Case in point is today’s feature of the wedding of Natassha and Charles, in which the scheduled ceremony of 10am had me up and about as early as 4am. There are days that I only start to sleep at this time. While it is starting to sound like I am complaining, let me say that in most cases I would be, but not this time. The moment I went in and saw Nikky being made-up for her wedding, I honestly felt that it will be one of the most exciting and beautiful days ever. And you know what? That was exactly how the day had been. From that very early hours up to almost the next day, I witnessed and took part in what was the most heartfelt, most beautiful and most well thought-of weddings I’ve seen. We were treated with such warmth and with so many arrays of amazing scenes to photograph that we hope you appreciate in the photos below. It may not be easy to wake-up very early for unusual wedding schedules like this, but if only to shoot […]

The Wedding of Bernadette and Chris | Shangri-la Mactan

Bringing to you today the photos from the stunning wedding of Bernadette and Chris. Set in Mactan Island in the Visayas, we had the backdrop of Shangri-la for our preparation and reception and then the lovely and quant church of Sto. Nino de Cebu-Mactan Parish for the ceremony. The wedding is very intimate, Bernadette and Chris had less than forty of their families and friends witness their wedding. Guests flew in from New York where Chris is from, from Bataan where Bernadette’s family is from, and from Sydney where they met and now reside. Everybody knew everybody and even us got to know most of them. Every detail about the wedding was personal and impeccable as well. Bernadette is very meticulous and have very good taste. You can see just from the photo of the flatlay how beautifully every little thing about her and their wedding go together. Her lovely gown also had a personal touch as it was made specially by Lisa Adler, Bernadette’s maid of honour. Indeed this is not a typical wedding we usually but every bit as amazing as the other we’ve covered. Enjoy the photos. Special thanks to Anna See and Lynn Ortanez of Rita Neri Events and to Bong Sare of Threelogy for delightfully working on this wedding with us.

Gina and Bennett | A Singapore Pre-Wedding Shoot

I remember when I started shooting international destinations many years ago, Singapore was the country of choice for many of our clients. We visit the country at least 3 times a year and lose half the weight of our body in sweat each time. Fascinatingly, I have not shot in Singapore in the last four years until Gina (ok, and Bennett) decided that we’ll do another round of pre-nup photos in the country where they met, fell in love, and now reside. I was surprised that when we were looking for places to shoot, it seemed like I have already shot in all of them – maybe this is the reason why there wasn’t any reason to go back (what?) But Gina is different, she can research places that barely exist, maybe even those that don’t exist. lol. But really the line-up of spots we had was truly something. From an almost inaccessible abandoned mansion to the most extravagant bar in the country where no wedding-related shoot hs been done preciously, we simply did Singapore like never before. To appreciate more the amount of thought and the amount of fun we has doing this please watch the attached behind-the-scenes video below. To Gina and Bennett, the biggest thumbs-up to you guys.

The Wedding of Shirley and Kevin

There are a lot of things to worth remembering about the wedding of Shirley and Kevin. Be it their one-of-a-kind prenup shoot in South Africa, or the fact that they flew in Boys Avenue to sing in their wedding or with Shirley being the first Asian bride that Elie Saab made a custom gown for – everything has been interesting and has its own story. Check out the beautiful photos below to see all of those and everything in-between. Enjoy.
