Shari and Derrick | Manila Marriott Hotel Wedding

Here at Metrophoto, building relationships with our clients, bringing out the best in them during every shoot and exceeding their expectations is what we aim to do. That is why we do what we do, exerting our 110% effort at every event we shoot. This is the reason why even though it was Paolo who shot the Tinghun of Shari and Derrick, it wasn’t hard for me to connect with them during their wedding day. Two words to describe this couple would be fun and candid. But what’s amazing about them is that they transformed dramatically once in front of the camera. They weren’t shy to do every pose I instructed them to do. Weddings are delightful and it’s always a privilege to be part of a couple’s big day. As you look at our photos, don’t be distracted by the exquisite styling done by the talented Gideon Hermosa because after all, the star of the day is our charming bride, Shari, and her radiant groom, Derrick. Mary the Queen and Edsa Shangri-La Weddings | Marge and Tyronne

In the wedding of Marge and Tyronne, I have witnessed beautiful people, beautiful details, beautiful places but the thing that stood out for me (aside of course from how gorgeous Marge and Tyronne were) was the stunning reception set-up in Edsa Shangri-la. From how it covers the entire ballroom, to the color combination, it is surely one of the prettiest I’ve seen recently. Such a wonderful thing for the guests to experience and for the wedding itself to be concluded with. Congratulations again to Marge and Tyronne. We love you guys. The Wedding of Ehra Madrigal and Tom Yeung

Almost 10 years shooting weddings and one would think I’ve seen it all. Yet today’s feature of the wedding of Ehra and Tom still marks several firsts for me. This is the first time I’ve seen The Lind Hotel in Boracay, much morw shoot in it. I guess it was easily missable because its beach front is only a few paddleboards wide but the place makes up for it by having the most amazing views of boracay from its rooms and pool. It was the perfect place to celebrate the love of Ehra and Tom, something you do see outside, but an affection that is even more incredible inside. This is also the first time I’ve actually fully attended a wedding after-party. Our schedules almost never allows us to and we (more me) really are not the partying type. But Ehra and Tom had become really good friends of mine and it wasn’t that easy to say no, despite my lifetime experience doing it. Being there I realized even more how awesome of a couple and of a friend they are. Their crowd is fun, open, and sure knows how to have a great time – especially with new Japanese friends around. Lastly, I have never shot a wedding while at the same time, had the perspectives of most the guests available (actually push notified) to me via a messaging app. It was fascinatingly cool to see real time accounts and photos via whatsapp while we also cover the celebration […]

Coleen Garcia | Metro Weddings

The gorgeous and soon-to-be Metrophoto bride Colleen Garcia in this month’s cover of Metro Weddings. Had the chance to know Coleen up-close by shooting this cover shoot in Balesin and I have nothing but awe and praises. She embodies the absolute modern bride – astute, beautiful, and nice in the extreme of ways. Knowing her and Billy is a great privilege and we can’t wait to shoot them more. Special thanks to the Metro Weddings team of Kate Paras together with Jan and Camille for such a wonderful experience and to the always fun glam team of Pong, Renz and Denise (representing Adrianne). Enjoy :)

The Wedding of Natassha and Charles

If there is one thing I hate the most, it is waking up very early in the morning. Ok maybe next to negativity and mayonnaise, but it’s up there with the things I hope do not exist in life. My profession as a photographer is as ideal as it can get, but sometimes it does have days where we are required to wake-up much earlier than the usual. Case in point is today’s feature of the wedding of Natassha and Charles, in which the scheduled ceremony of 10am had me up and about as early as 4am. There are days that I only start to sleep at this time. While it is starting to sound like I am complaining, let me say that in most cases I would be, but not this time. The moment I went in and saw Nikky being made-up for her wedding, I honestly felt that it will be one of the most exciting and beautiful days ever. And you know what? That was exactly how the day had been. From that very early hours up to almost the next day, I witnessed and took part in what was the most heartfelt, most beautiful and most well thought-of weddings I’ve seen. We were treated with such warmth and with so many arrays of amazing scenes to photograph that we hope you appreciate in the photos below. It may not be easy to wake-up very early for unusual wedding schedules like this, but if only to shoot […]

The Wedding of Thea and Pierre

We kill ourselves to give the best photos to our beloved clients. But with us, it only starts with the photos as the same effort is exerted with every other aspect of the experience – from inquiry up to even after the delivery of the products. While what we do is commendable, we really have acknowledge that, in the same manner, we are lucky as well. We are booked by client who are the most respectful, trusting, and driven. All these are achieved with that extraordinary synergy. As we share with you today Thea and Pierre’s wedding, let me also share you what they have to say about their entire experience with us so far. I believe while these photos are beautiful, their meaning and appreciation are taken to a whole new level when these very subjects’ thought are shared with them as well. To Our Dearest Oly, Thank you for taking such wonderful photos during our wedding day. You vibrant personality and passion with what you do made is so easy for us to pose in front of the camera. In fact instead of having that feeling that “we just had to do it” we were actually having fun, and we were honoured to do it. Now, personally, we know what sets you apart. You work using not only your head, but your heart and soul. You do things not for yourself but for who your deeds are for and we are one lucky couple to have you as […]

Justine and Pepe | Manila Marriott Weddings

You know what is weird with this weird pandemic predicament we are all in right now? It is that this weird thing is becoming all too normal. Somehow the urgency and panic have dissipated and whether that is a good thing or a bad thing – there is no way of telling yet. But you know what is always a good thing? Love. And let us share with you today one of the most endearing weddings we shot this year, that of Tatin and Pepe. Don’t get fooled by their witty (or should I dare say erotic) hashtag, ‘TatsmyPepe’, this celebration is filled with the proper type of fun and the most melt-your-heart moments. Having been through a lot in their relationship, these two have been patient, have been forgiving and they have persevered. The profoundness inside the church during their vows and the revelry that surrounded the entire day says it all. ‘TatsmyPepe’ has ‘Tats’ everyone who were there, for all the right reasons. As we roll with the punches brought about by Covid-19, may we continue to do what we know are good things – not tats our faces and for the time being, allow Tatin and Pepe to tats us with the photos from their wedding. Stay safe everyone. ___________________ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz Make-up: Mariah Santos Gown: Valta Guba Planning: La Belle Fete Video: Bob Nicolas

A City of Dreams and Manila Cathedral Wedding | Nikki and Jeff

I’ve heard it said – and I guess you’ve heard it too – that people come into our lives for a reason. I’ve always been certain that this is true. Some are meant to stay for a short time but some are meant to stay forever. On today’s feature, I share how Nikki and Jeff proclaim to the world that they were meant to do just that, stay with each other forever. We were a witness to this love during the time we shot their amazing prenup in Batanes several months back (click here to their amazing photos). We have grown really close since, including their families, and have nothing but love for these two amazing individuals. People come and go and just like Nikki is to Jeff, and vice-versa, some will stay forever. With us clients also come and go, and with Nikki and Jeff we also have proof that there will be some that will stay forever, maybe not physically but as friends and, particularly with Nikki, as a testament of a true blue #metrophotobride. ___________________ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz Make-up Pong Niu Gown: Michael Leyva Coordination: Rita Neri Event Planners Video: Kristopher King Caldera Flowers and Styling: Jo Claravall Reception: City of Dreams Manila Emcee: Max Tiu

Karen and Ian | A Tagaytay Wedding Photographer

A day everyone has been waiting for. Every preparation and every moment led to this; the day Karen and Ian become one before the Lord. Every corner of the venue had a burst of resounding laughter and congratulations from friends and family as they celebrate their union. In every click and every photo I took of them, their love, passion and clear determination to face tomorrow with each other were obvious. I remember what Nicholas Sparks said in his book, The Notebook. He said, “So it’s not gonna be easy. It’s going to be hard; we’re gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, every day. You and me… everyday.” Every wedding that I attend and shoot is momentous and memorable for me. It goes beyond the invitation, what colors to use, what food to serve or what gown to wear. It is a holy union that no one should separate. It is about spending every hour and every waking moment with your spouse and living with unending grace, love, forgiveness, and understanding. I hope you’ll see the spark in their eyes as you browse through their photos.
