A lot of great things come in threes. A lot of great things come in threes. There are the three kings (very apt because it’s the new year), Charlie’s Angels, The Chicago Bulls three-peat, The Threelogy Videographers (not because I owe them money hahaha), and even that nice set of underwear I always buy comes in threes. But there is nowhere, the power of having three parts is more pronounced that when they form to make a trilogy. There is the original Star Wars trilogy, the Spiderman trilogy, my favorite Back to the Future trilogy, and of course, the Lord of the Rings trilogy. This is not to mention local favorites like the Pido Dida and Starzan trilogies. hahaha.

Kidding aside, there is a reason I made my Cambodia shoot into three parts. And yes, while it is a great series, it was also too plenty to just cram everything into less posts. hehehe. But really, the magnificence and character of the place deserve more than the usual exposure. And I have saved the best for last. If you have enjoyed the photos from Angkor Wat and the Chong Kneas floating village, you’ll likely love the photos more from these two equally amazing temples – the Bayon and Ta Phrom. Bayon is that structure with huge indifferent-looking faces on them while Ta Phrom are those temples with monstrous tree roots weaving through the stones – the exact same place where Angelina Jolie did her Lara Croft movie.

Hope you enjoy the photos. We had a hell of a great time in all of our 3 days in Cambodia including Eric and Lalaine being instant celebrities (no kidding) as people start mobbing them and asking to take pictures with them while we where in Ta Phrom shooting.

Seam Reap is Metrofied.

To those of you who were able to witness our initial feature of Angkor Wat on our Cambodia engagement session, we are finally ready to conclude the series with parts two and three today and tomorrow. :) So yes, YAY!

In this second part we are featuring the Chong Kneas floating village. It may be one of the last places for someone to have an e-session but if one will ignore the filth, it is actually a concept filled with interesting scenes unlike anything that has been done before :) This is a good 45-minute ride from the city proper and we rode a boat that took us around the floating village. We saw how their community was set-up – from their police boats to their markets and schools. Very amusing are their ‘floating stores’ where boats selling all kinds of stuff (from iced-coffee to fried eggs) roam around and were just a holler away.

Enjoy the photos, these are probably different enough to get featured in a National Geographic wedding special. hahaha.

The Angkor Wat Temple in Seam Reap was a sight to behold. It’s really just old stones but there’s something about it that just took my breath away. I felt overwhelmed with the opportunity to shoot there so I told myself that the goal was to come-up with nothing short of magnificent. Of course I knew I was kidding myself, but it’s always good to overshoot your goals. :)

This is an e-session that felt so much like a vacation. Thanks to Eric and Lalaine who are awesome travel buddies, they have researched and were fully prepared and were willing to try different things for us to get immersed in the Khmer culture. From weird-looking fruits to crocodile meat, we had a taste of what Seam Reap had to offer. We tried to look for the grilled tarantulas but we didn’t find it – which is a relief! hahaha.

Ok so first things first. We had a lot of photos from this trip so I decided to cut it into a few posts. Today’s feature is the mother of all them – the Angkor Wat. Enjoy :)
