Today we feature the wedding of Ian and Angelica. And it is nothing short of Epic. I know that I always use the term “something you’ve never seen before” too often in this blog but really, this is something that you’ve never seen before. :)

To those of you who were able to view their e-session photos that we showcased before, you already know that Ian is a great wedding photographer and from one photographer to another, we need not say the standard that should set for his wedding. And similar to all the weddings that I shoot, I set that standard very high. Too high in fact that both Ian and Angelica needed to clamber the historic and enormous fountain of the Manila Peninsula for a one-of-a-kind shot.

The climb was both difficult and dangerous, but like I said, we are in unison on what needed to be done. Well I’m sure Ian and I were in the same page, maybe Angelica was just all too nice and beautiful to just say yes. hahaha. But it was the perfect ending to a such wonderful day. I’m grateful to both Ian and Angelica for their confidence and trust and I really have to mention how awesome it is of Angelica to consent to all our ideas. This is one for the books :)

Power couples are easy to remember when you see them. Thus I’m sure you are familiar with Macky and Somerie – we featured their wonderful e-session photos from Bataan previously here. And with every epic metrophoto engagement session follows an equally epic metrophoto wedding and these are what we are excited to share with everyone today. :)

Several weeks ago Macky and Somerie had a glorious wedding in Don Bosco church and in the Manila Polo Club. The entire day was filled with a lot of happy moments and a lot of beautiful people. And of course, the lovely bride, Somerie ultimately exemplied all that beauty. I can’t forget one comment when we posted the photos in facebook that says “Som, there couldn’t possibly be a more beautiful bride”. A bold statement but it’s hard to disagree :) And while it’s Som’s birthday, that’s not the reason we’re saying that. :D go see for yourself.

Today’s post is one of my all-time favorites because of so many reasons. First of all, Ramon and Kristina is one of the nicest, sweetest, and most good-looking couple on the face of the earth. They make the photos look good even before you press the shutter button. Second of all, Ramon is my idol, he works for the fashion industry and has the swagger and looks that could really kill! hahaha. His bespoke Tom Ford suit plus everything that went with it was something I’ve never seen a groom wear before – it truly felt like we were in a set of a Jason Bourne movie while at the helipad of the Manila Peninsula. Third of all, it was my first time to have the bride’s preparation at the Presidential Suite of the said hotel. This P120,000-a-night room didn’t disappoint. Only, there were times that we’d get lost looking for Kristina because of how huge it was. Fourthly, this was first ever Inglesia ni Cristo wedding and I had a fascinatingly great time seeing and shooting something different. Fiftly, and I’m thinking the last one because if I don’t draw the line now I might not know where else to stop, we capped the night off with an awesome shot on top of the helipad of the hotel creating Metrophoto’s signature painting-with-lights shot with the Makati skyline as background (see photo above again).

I know those were quite a lot, but with all the great shoots that I experience, we want to justify some of those that become a favorite. So again, enjoy these photos from a wedding in The Manila Peninsula. I have already posted quite a few from the same hotel recently but we’re proud to continue featuring all of them in the blog. After all, we make the effort to make sure that each and every one of them are different in their own way, just like how our couples are different in their own wonderful ways :)

It’s been a looong while since I last featured a Boracay wedding in my blog. For some reason, they get mixed-up during the busy season and the chance for a feature is lost faster than the sun sets in this breathtaking island. But that is about to change. Starting with the wedding today of Lowell and Mylene, I’ll be featuring some of our weddings from the island in next few weeks.

Boracay is my most favorite destination – both for pleasure and for work. But since the job that I do is something that I deeply adore, then it always just seem like a vacation. I have been to famous destinations like Hawaii, Koh Samui, Bali, Sanya, and even in Cabo, Mexico but nothing compares to the beauty of the Boracay beach and sunset. Others may have the better facilities and resorts and offerings but base it on pure-charm, Boracay is the clear runaway winner.

The more these stunning qualities are accentuated when you photograph a wedding filled with wonderful and beautiful people. Lowell and Mylene hail from Dumaguete and experienced some challenges a day before the wedding when Sendong caused a lot of flights to be delayed. It was uncertain if the priest, the wedding gown, and a lot of the guests were ever gonna make it because of the weather condition. But in the end everything worked out and the wedding was divine because if they had the wedding in Dumaguete as initially planned, it would have not happened because of the storm.

Most engaged couples go through the difficult but exciting task of deciding what concept to do for the engagement session shoot. And choosing to be unique and at the same time beautiful is becoming more and more challenging as everyone seem to want to attain the same thing. The case is both similar and different for Ian. The situation is SIMILAR because, like many others, they wanted their e-session to be extraordinary and the situation is DIFFERENT because, unlike many others who can just choose not to have such a grand one, Ian is expected to have a shoot that’s nothing short of spectacular – being a modern wedding photographer that he is.

So to lighten the load, he comes to me. He split it in half and had me carry half of the burden and the pressure. hahaha. I never thought it would be easy and yet when the day of the shoot came, I didn’t feel that damn monkey on my back. I guess if there is an advantage, it is having Ian and Angelica know what it takes to create great photos and all we had was great fun throughout the day. They were both awesome and Gels nailed it like how Marian Rivera would ;)
