Metrophoto has always been about doing “more.” The right kind of more. The tasteful kind of more. We are lucky to be able to document the most elaborate weddings but, every so often, something different comes along. The right kind of different. The unforgettable kind of different. Megan Young and Mikhael’s Daez wedding – actually, their entire wedding journey – was just that.

It was intimate and pared-down, but nonetheless touching and beautiful. It was a true representation of who Megan and Mik are: two people crazy in love that wanted to focus on what’s important and do things their way. Less on the fuss, more on the fun. They didn’t want any trends to influence how they dreamt of their wedding and their photos to be. What mattered most was to celebrate with the people dearest to them. It was a wonderful thing to witness. 

Even with their prenup shoot that we did in Annecy, France last year (see it here), the couple kept it low-key and hassle-free. It is captivating as it is raw. These photos are seemingly so simple but they draw you in. One can’t help but take a second look.

According to their wishes, we shot everything as unobtrusively as we could. I do have to say thank you to Megan and Mik because their wedding allowed us to showcase our brand of creative yet raw storytelling. The results and I hope you agree, are gorgeous!

Today, I am happy to finally share the highlights of the exclusive and official photos from the wedding of Megan Young and Mikhael Daez. Some details that stood out for me: that they saw each other before the ceremony, that they barely had celebrity guests, that their wedding attire was chic and not flashy (they didn’t even buy new shoes!), that they used Mik’s red car as their bridal car AND Megan drove it after the ceremony. I loved that they mingled with their guests as much as they could. I loved that everything flowed so organically and beautifully. I don’t see these things happening in most of the weddings that we cover, making it so much more memorable.
