I always say that each wedding is different, that each one is special. But that is never more true than in the wedding celebration of Libertad and Santiago. Mind you, this was their 70th anniversary, that’s the average life expectancy in the country in case you want to put the number into perspective.

I have been awed by many of the weddings I’ve covered but non like this one. The feelings of amazement, of gratitude, and of pride filled me throughout the day. I’ve never seen such completeness and such contentment. Not only from Kong kong Santiago and Ama Libertad but from every one who took part in the event. Kong kong who is 95 years old, as I have learned, still goes to work six times a week.

The entire Cua clan was a pleasure to work with. They are not few, but everyone was cooperative (and good-looking) which allowed us to do more than 100 layouts during the wedding preparation alone. Honestly I thought it would be a bit of a stretch but we finished with some time to spare. Thanks to the organizing and coercing power of granddaughters Sheryl, Serena, and Shayna. They were the ones who we have worked with from the start, making sure everything was covered for such an unusual and momentous event.
