Sky and Vient | A General Santos Pre-wedding Special

“Do not wait for the perfect moment but rather take the moment and make it perfect.” This is exactly the feat our shoot challenged us with.

The initial plan was to shoot in GenSan, Siargao and Sagada, but we had to cut it short because of the busy schedule of the couple and the suppliers. So we ended up shooting only within the outskirts of GenSan, which in all fairness played along very well despite its brief to long, hard rain showers and sometimes-brief sun shines. And because of this risky and gambling weather, we had to cut down our shoot locations from six to just four.

On our first day of the shoot, the rain was torrential but we still managed to travel from the city to Whitehaven Resort in Gumasa, Saranggani Province. When we arrived, surprisingly, the rain stopped so we had to shoot as fast before the weather changes its mind. The resort was fresh probably because of the rain but the wetness of the environment helped boost vibrant colors and the skyline is just the perfect blue. We had the place the way we wanted it to be but we also needed to move fast as the sun is also setting…fast. Luckily, we had every shot at excellence.

We started day two of Sky and Vient’s pre-wedding shoot at the Paragliding Canyons in Maasim also in Saranggani. Cool air and the bright sun is what welcomed us upon reaching the paragliding site. It was breathtaking, perfect for the shoot. We hoped for the friendly weather all day but apparently some things slightly went south. After our shoot at the canyons, it was time to go the vast Pineapple farm.

When we arrived, beauty just met our eyes and we were in deep awe as we gazed upon the vast area. We found nice vantage points to reveal how wide the pineapple farm is, really it’s more than the horizon of what the eye can see. We started shooting with great weather but just a few minutes passed, lo and behold, it started raining really hard. We had to rush to the vehicles and stay dry as much as possible until we finish the shoot. Sky was in heels so Vient had to carry her but that was another moment to take the shot of the couple. It was absolutely a spur of the moment for a perfect candid photo. After a while, the rain stopped and we resumed the shoot until sunset. The couple were game regardless of the erratic weather. The imperfect settings made these moments perfect.

Please do enjoy the photos. The weather just made the shots perfect. It could not be possible without it.
