Amidst the grandeur of weddings that I usually cover, it’s sometimes easy to get lost in the lavish details; like the extravagant gowns, the beautiful decor and, the magnificent flowers.

I believe that intimacy and familiarity, is what every wedding, whether big or small, need. It’s the aspect of weddings that reminds everyone, even me, that marriage goes beyond the glamour and beauty of the ceremony. And this can be seen in Karen and Dave’s wedding. What made it really uniquely intimate was the close relationship of the couple with the Cardinal who officiated their wedding. It was an apt reminder to everyone, including me, that weddings are not mere ceremonies, but a celebration of love and relationships.
