Today we feature Aimee and Jaypee. I remember losing a camera to water damage in this shoot. It reminded me that risks, even those somewhat calculated, are still risks. But that stigma also reminds me how the bad sometimes comes with the good – or for this instance how the bad comes with the amazing.

It was thrilling to work on this shoot. Aimee has been talking to me ever since she inquired about shooting a pre-wedding with animals in it. I had several ideas but I knew that having a sea eagle was at the top of my list – I’ve always prayed to shoot with a bird of prey and it finally happened.

Add to this the beauty and intensity of Aimee. She has that allure that not only tames huge wild birds but me as a photographer as well. With all the existing chaos of the extreme heat, the unpredictable animal, and the dizzying waves, she unearths calm and puts everything seemingly into a trance. It is amazing and she is amazing.
