Ascott BGC Weddings | Ivy and Noel

Every post is different just as every wedding is different. As we are put right now in such unusual circumstances, we thought we’d make things more exciting by doing something different.

For today’s feature of the Ivy and Noel’s wedding, I’ll take a break writing and give the stage to Martin, a good friend, and Noel’s brother. May his perspective provide not just a welcomed variety, but also a feeling that we are all connected through this crisis:

The story of Ivy and Noel was how many years in the making, from a simple job interview that eventually led to them to the altar on December 27, 2019.

Unlike most couple stories, this perspective comes from me – Martin, the groom’s brother. In a span of 3 decades and then some, it’s a fact that I’ve gone to countless weddings. As someone who appreciates love stories, creativity, and a good party, I always go into detail what makes a wedding work.

In 2013, I met Oly of Metrophoto, through my best friend’s Paul and Lala Franco’s wedding, it was the first time I saw him at work and when the pictures came out, I was floored. Not only did I see a master in motion, but I saw how meticulously he made the best details of the wedding pop out. Since then, I promised myself I’d get friends and family on board to consider Metrophoto as their go-to Photo team. Truth be told it wasn’t the last time I’d see Oly and his group of talents over the years and a good friendship was born out of this.

Fast forward to 2018 when my younger brother proposed, it only took my one sit down with Noel and Ivy that there was going to be one non-negotiable for the wedding – and that was of course Metrophoto. Since Noel and Ivy were set to live in Costa Rica literally a week after their wedding, I said, the best way to celebrate the day you say “I do” is to make sure we can always look back to “elevated, reliable and beautiful” photos, even if our families are countries apart. I also remember Ivy saying that she definitely wanted to look her best on that special day and there was no doubt that Oly and his team would deliver on that request.

Noel and Ivy’s personalities are naturally matched. They’re friendly and down to earth. They have a passion for great music & movies, and they’re easy to love. On that final Friday of 2019, two days after Christmas – the happy and easy going couple who didn’t shed a tear the whole ceremony made things official; and when the lights dimmed in Ascott BGC to show how the day went, it was clear that the non-negotiable went over and beyond. Noel was captured as a dashing groom and Ivy as a stunning bride.

As the world currently faces a challenging time, there will be bits and pieces of life that will always inspire you to move ahead with purpose and hope. Who would’ve thought that the photos I just thought would give us great memories will now also serve as a reason to look forward to better days.
