Cathy Gonzaga’s intimate wedding with Mikee Morada came at a very unusual time. It’s no wonder that it’s very different from what we would expect when a celebrity of her status ties the knot.

For one, pinning the date was not easy because of the Covid infection that Cathy had late last year (see the full story in her YT channel). Honestly, it seemed (at least to me) that everything was up in the air at that time. Pun intended. Furthermore, this is not ‘the wedding’ but merely a prelude to the real big celebration that’s to come. This one was very private, attended by no more than 15 people.

For these reasons, both by circumstance and by design, there are very few details available on what transpired that day. Being privy to everything doesn’t give me any right to share, and I think it’s nice when some things are left to interpretation. But what I can tell you is that I’ve grown to know and to love Cathy and Mikee. I feel that the unusual timing of their engagement allowed us to bond greatly as we try to deal with all the uncertainties. This gave my photographs unique access and approach that’s different from how I usually take photos. That unexpected and somewhat uncomfortable rendering of the images is an idea of Cathy that we then worked on to give that surreal, nostalgic, and almost Mal-and-Cobb-moments-in-Inception feel to the photos. It is to say that what happened is merely a preview albeit a fuzzy one.

So don’t be surprised if this feature of Cathy and Mikee’s intimate wedding is limited in both quantity and clarity. Believe us when we all say that the best is yet to come.
