A Shangri-la at The Fort Wedding | Bernice and Dom

I have always dreaded morning weddings. Sleeping early is probably the second-worst thing in the world after having to wake-up very early. So I admit that when I found out during my meeting with Bernice and Dom that their wedding ceremony is at 10 am, I was a little taken aback. Morning weddings don’t come often. At most, they’re twice a year, plus we just finished months of being in quarantine (I’ve been so used to sleeping all day), I just wasn’t ready.

I know I sound like a brat, complaining about an event that’s pushing through when most weren’t. But the good stuff is coming, I promise.

Bernice and Dom are the good stuff. These two are fun! They are loose, and they can give it to you as much as they can take it. They told me during our meeting that I should just go crazy and execute all the ideas I have for their wedding – from maybe climbing something up to committing a minor felony (not sure). Turned out we didn’t have to do anything illegal to get incredible photos – Bernice, Dom, their families and friends, who were all game, made sure of that.

I will still dread early morning weddings, but whenever I do, I can go back to the moment when I felt like an idiot being frightened by what turned out to be one of the most fun times I ever had shooting a wedding. Cheers to our fears, and to the people that make us enjoy them. Happy first month, Bernice and Dom!
