Joy and Ian | An Elie Saab-Inspired Prenup Shoot.

This year made us adapt to a lot of changes. And if any shoot is a perfect example, this one of Joy and Ian is the most fit.

Talking about changes, pulling this off didn’t come easy. It has then been rescheduled at least twice, and there were also changes in locations. It was very uncertain if it would push through or not. The only thing that we’re sure about and is constant, is the concept – we would marry enchantment with panache and peculiarity with love.

One challenging part of the planning though, is the incredibly unpredictable weather. The back-to-back super typhoons caused a bit of concern, especially for a shoot whose main idea is to be shot outdoors. But experience taught us well, and we all decided that we’ll brave whatever the sky gives us, albeit with some changes in the set-up and sequences of the shoot. Simply put, we were stubborn but flexible.

Our risk-taking paid off. There were pockets of downpours that we waited out, and then it was gloomy throughout – the ideal light setting I had in mind. We incorporated several exciting elements in this shoot that evidently elevated our execution and overall uniqueness. Mirrors (a lot of them), and an owl are some. You’ll see how we put together everything in the behind-the-scenes video we added below.

Change is a constant part of our everyday lives. And if we think about it, experience has already taught us to take it head-on and create something beautiful out of it.
