Shari and Derrick | Manila Marriott Hotel Wedding

Here at Metrophoto, building relationships with our clients, bringing out the best in them during every shoot and exceeding their expectations is what we aim to do. That is why we do what we do, exerting our 110% effort at every event we shoot. This is the reason why even though it was Paolo who shot the Tinghun of Shari and Derrick, it wasn’t hard for me to connect with them during their wedding day. Two words to describe this couple would be fun and candid. But what’s amazing about them is that they transformed dramatically once in front of the camera. They weren’t shy to do every pose I instructed them to do. Weddings are delightful and it’s always a privilege to be part of a couple’s big day. As you look at our photos, don’t be distracted by the exquisite styling done by the talented Gideon Hermosa because after all, the star of the day is our charming bride, Shari, and her radiant groom, Derrick. Karen and Roy | An Amazing Turkey Pre-wedding Feature (Part 1 of 2)

Being able to shoot weddings for a living, is a dream come true in itself. If you asked me then what could be better than what I do, I would have answered nothing. But eventually I discovered that travelling for shoots, make it even better. It is doing what you love to do while doing what you love do to – a dream within a within a dream right? Absolutely! From what started with trips within the country and then within southeast Asia, to adventures that has now taken me to the most amazing and significant coroners of the earth, it has really been one heck of a ride. Today’s feature is one for the books. And that is for any book – be it figuratively or literally, as this adventure takes us to the cradle of civilisation and to one of the most consequential places in history. In fact, this shoot in Turkey is breathtaking enough to allow me to split the feature into two posts and still have each set make its own mark. In this first part, we’ll share the photos of Karen and Roy from Ephesius and from Pamukkale. One historic and another exotic – but both jaw-dropping, especially with Karen and Roy in them. In Ephesius we shot ruins of the foremost Greek civilizations, one of the very few still intact today and in Pamukkale we traversed mineral deposits that cascade down the mountain slopes creating a spectacle of lights, shapes, and shadows that can […]

Maureen and Mark | A Salar de Uyuni Bolivia Pre-wedding (Part 2)

In the previous installation of the series, we shared photos from day one of our shoot in Salar de Uyuni and we highly recommend that you read that wonderful piece. Today, we reveal the second and final day of our shoot in Bolivia. If you think the salar desert and the train cemetery are amazing, I’m sure you’ll love to see the spots we shot on this feature. We only covered two places on this last day because the salar is so vast that it takes hours to go from one spot to another, but throughout it was one jaw-dropping scene after another. We were still having altitude sickness and it was so difficult to prepare and get started for the day. Our first stop was a deserted railway that goes all the way to Chile. These are the tracks that the trains from the train cemetery used during the Spanish occupation, transporting mined silver ores along the salt desert. From the track you can see Volcan Ollague in the background and it was a sight to behold. There were even dear running around the plains. After another 4 hours of driving, we arrived in Laguna Hedionda for a close encounter with the flamingoes. I have to say that this is one of most amazing things I’ve seen in my life. The flamigoes themselves are beautiful already but with such a surreal background, the experience is just in another level. I wasn’t an easy shoot. It was scorching and chilly […]

Niza and Arvin | A Bacolod Pre-Wedding Special

Bacolod is one of the places that has been really close to my heart, and every time I visit, that love just gets deeper and deeper. :) And this is no more true than when I visited early this year to shoot the pre-wedding of Niza and Arvin. Aside from being able to shoot this amazing couple in locations I only dream about, I was also able to work with people very close to me as well. Tin Panes and Candy Nagrampa) teamed-up (of course with Carlos Durana also) to make sure that we get the best locations (a freakin sugar mill), the most convenient logistics, and the most incredible food the entire time. It was such an inspiring trip and I’m sure the photos will show. As a bonus, I also met Niza’s parents and was treated to an impromptu breakfast at their lovely home. I’m not kidding when I say that it was one of the best breakfasts of my life!!! ❤️ To get a hold more of the kind of experience that we had, be sure to also check the attached behind-the-scenes video below. Enjoy.

Irene and JB | A Kenya Pre-Wedding Special (Part 1 of 2)

“Where is your dream destination?” I get asked this question by my couples all the time. Usually, it is simply out of curiosity. But Irene was different; she sought the answer and intended to really make it happen. The result? One of the most amazing we’ve ever done. Answering her was not easy. Over the years, I have been so fortunate to shoot in the most beautiful locations in the world, many of which were at the top of my shoot list: Machu Picchu, Salar de Uyuni, Cappadocia, Porto, Cape Town, Ethiopia, and Morocco. Irene, JB, and I share a passion for wildlife. After several discussions, we decided that we would shoot their pre-wedding in Kenya, given its majestic safaris and its rich culture. We all knew that not only would the pre-wedding shoot be amazing, but the overall experience as well. We set out on a 10-day trip that was so much more than what we expected and hoped for. From the national parks of Mount Kenya and Lake Nakuru to the most amazing private reserve of Segera in Laikipa, every location was a luxury. I really must say thank you to Irene and JB for making this experience unbelievably grand on multiple levels. We had everything at our disposal for this Kenya pre-wedding shoot – manpower, vehicles, the best accommodation and food. It was a photographer’s dream. Given all of that, imagine the pressure I felt to deliver! Despite the preparations and the resources, there were still many things […]

The Cebu Wedding of Marian and Mik

2018 finished early for me in terms of shooting. I had planned a month-long vacation with the family that would have us spend the holidays abroad for the first time. Today’s feature of the wedding of Marian and Mik was my last wedding of 2018, and ‘saving the best for last’ would not have become popular if it was not true. I flew to one of my most favorite places to shoot these two wonderful people and also meet their equally lovely families and friends – quite a few I actually know. I love shooting in Pedro Calungsod chapel (aside from the fact that it’s nice and bright, SM seaside is also just behind it, and that means we get buy milktea refreshments while working) and as a bonus, their reception was held in a beautiful house that overlooked the entire city of Cebu. Thanks to Marian and Mik for allowing us to shoot your beautiful wedding and in allowing to have me to have one of the most beautiful send-offs. Enjoy the photos.

A Cappadocia Pre-wedding | Tin and Pep

A few posts back, I’ve shared how the beauty and sceneries of Cappadocia can literally take your breath away. It’s as if it was plucked from a whimsical fantasy and then put in a rugged terrain. During my first visit there with Karen and Roy, all I wanted to do was to make their pre-wedding as unique as possible that when you look back it’s as if you were transported to scenes from a movie. I never knew that this would create such a huge impact and inspire other couples to not only visit the place but have their shoot there as well. When Pep and Tin contacted me and said they wanted to do their pre-wedding shoot in Cappadocia, I knew there were more that we can do. This side of Turkey is just unique in so many ways and the provisions for beautiful shots are endless. We had an amazing time. We were blessed with the aesthetics of the place; the rippling waves of rock, the colorful hot air balloons floating in the bluish and pinkish sky, and the sun kissing the mountains as it sets. Looking back, I knew in my heart that this is a place that is not only to be experienced once. And now that we have been here the second time, we know that the next one would come much sooner. But also make sure to check out our behind-the-scenes video below. Enjoy. Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz Make-up: Mark Qua Styling: Adrianne Concepcion […]

Elise and David | Hotel Shangri-la Tinghun

Love and honor, powerful emotions that bind a man and a woman for life, are celebrated in different ways all around the world. One of the most famous celebrations for Chinese-Filipino culture is Ting-hun. This is David’s opportunity to announce and proclaim to everyone his love and dedication to Elise. David did not hold back. He lavished Elise and her family with everything to prove that he loves her. At the same time, Elise and her family did everything to show David that he is welcome in their family. This is love. It is when you go out of your way to show and prove to the world your passion and dedication for the other person. Both giving everything for the other person. May you see love in its purest form through Elise and David’s photos. Jj and Franz | An East Ocean Palace Wedding

I love Jj and Franz. From the first time I met them at the office up to their pre-wedding shoot (see it here), everything was nice and easy and yet intensely pretty as well. For their wedding, nothing less was expected. And we need to say anything because today, you will not have to take our words for it. Today we feature the beautiful photos of Jj and Franz’s wedding. We just love how everything has come together from the location and set-up of their rooms in Okada, and their ceremony in Magallanes church, including all the people that took part in the celebration – it was nothing but love and laughter. Enjoy the photos. ___________ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz Make-up: Effie Go Inigo Video: Project Mayo 7 Coordination: The Knot Events Wedding Gown: Steph Tan Couture Flowers and Styling: Jacqs Floral Emcee: Eva Marie Poon Reception: East Ocean Ph
