The Wedding of Lovi Poe and Monty Blencowe

The wedding of Lovi and Monty is probably the microcosm (I hope the scientist in Monty is proud of my choice of term) of my entire career as a wedding photographer and the culmination, thus far, of everything we have envisioned and worked hard for.

We had the most magnificent location (Clivden was stunning at every turn), the loveliest of guests, striking wedding details and, of course, our beautiful couple, Lovi and Monty. I can write all the superlatives in the world, and they still would come short to describing the day that was #LoviGoesFullMonty. It was sensory overload from start to finish.

I’ve been shooting for sixteen years and I’ve seen some spectacular celebrations. I’m always still at awe about each wedding but I really did think nothing could surprise me anymore. This one proved me wrong, and I was happy to be proven so! We talk a lot about how a wedding looks but not so much about how it feels. This one had EVERYTHING. It was grand, yes, but also intimate, like how a gathering of close friends and family should feel. It was filled with fancy details, but nothing was showy nor out of place. They were all clearly well thought-out and spoke true of Lovi and Monty. It was the wedding of a movie star (as of last checking with 7.4M followers on IG alone), it was planned quietly and with no fanfare. You can imagine how hard it was to keep such a big secret!

Nothing felt forced or overly produced with the wedding. Every minute of the day radiated love, warmth, and joy (even with the downpour) and you can clearly see this in the photos. How does one achieve such a delicate balance? The end-result was this incredible and truly unforgettable experience for everyone, us included. A wedding very much close to perfect.

All the credit goes to Lovi and Monty, two of the warmest, kindest people one can hope to have as partners in a wedding. I don’t think the wedding would’ve turned out as beautiful as it did if not for these two. In her speech, Senator Grace Poe said FPJ would’ve been so proud of Lovi and I totally get why.

Lovi and Monty, we love you and thank you once again.
