Post-Wedding

Cologne, Germany Post-Wedding | Roslyn & Jannis

When I went to Europe last year, I had the amazing privilege to go to the historical Cologne City in Germany and shoot the post-wedding session of Roslyn & Jannis. We were fortunate to have a clear sunny day for the shoot as days before and the days following were cold, gloomy and rainy. The Cologne Cathedral is the most visited landmark in the city and paired with the Hohenzollern Bridge, it makes for an extraordinary view. We also visited Schlosspark Brühl, a palace nearby and enjoyed an afternoon stroll around the garden. And then I realized it was no longer the afternoon, sunset was at 9pm and I totally forgot that we were still shooting well into the bright early evening.

Jody and Dicky | A Batanes Island Renewal of Vows

Today we take you to one of the most stunning places in the Philippines for a feature of the renewal of vows of one of my closest friends in the wedding industry, Jody Liwanag. Batanes is situated in the northernmost part of the country in fact it is so north, it is closer to Taiwan than it is to any of our main islands. I guess this isolation is the reason why the place is on a world of its own. Its topography reminds you that of the Scottish countryside and yet the people are very Filipino – warm and very hospitable. The spots for amazing photo opportunities are abound. I’ve known Jody for more than eight years now. Being a well-known wedding planner, we were able to work together countless of times and have shared the same passion of providing the best service possible. We have grown close throughout the years, I met her Dicky and her kids, shot both her daughters 7th birthday portraits and I am now a godfather to the very adorable Jacob. It was an amazing experience in an amazing place. Their love for each other is inspiring – even after 15 years. And after many many weddings together, I was happy to be able to witness and share my talents to Jody and Dicky this time around. I’m sure that the best is yet to come to them and their family. Enjoy the photos and the behind-the-scenes video we prepared. Special thanks to Gideon […]

Jackie and Kerk | Art Sector Rizal Prenup Shoot

There is something about this shoot that makes it such a favorite. Perhaps it’s the mundane yet captivating nature of the shots, or maybe how easily we were able to execute all of them, but truthfully, it’s because of Jackie and Kerk. These two gave every frame that I envisioned a character that is truly them – wreaking of beauty and yet immensely simplistic by design. I remember meeting Jackie for the first time when she dropped by the pre-wedding shoot of her sister, Gaile, a little over a year before. That shoot of Gaile was iconic and intense. Thus it was so fitting that Jackie had hers in the same impactful fashion but with a twist of her own. Similar but unique – very much in a true #metrophotobride fashion. Please take my word for it while, at the same time going through all these beautiful photos for good measure. I won’t say it’s a favorite for nothing. Enjoy. Burano Italy Pre-Wedding| Genesis and Shaun

Venice has always been a special place to me. While other European cities are good for one visit only, Venice never gets old. During our last trip, we were able to ferry to the quaint and colourful Burano. I’ve always wanted to visit this village but never got the chance. This time, we not only got to visit the place but got to shoot Genesis and Shaun as well. Not quite getting married yet, but they wanted Metrophoto to document them and their love in a place that’s special to them. It was a quick but really wonderful shoot and I hope you enjoy it. :)
