Vernice and Pierreson | A Subic Pre-wedding Photographer

“I’d sooner be stranded on this island with you for all eternity than to be without you for even the merest moment.” The air was filled with a certain mystique that no words could elucidate as we shot Vernice and Pierreson’s prenup on the richly raw island of Grande. This seemingly unmapped and mystical island was truly remarkable; its rough terrain and abandoned structures made for a beautiful contrast against Vernice and Pierreson as they leisurely strolled (sometimes even traipsed, ran, and climbed) hearts intertwined and hand-in-hand, excitedly exploring what visions of untouched or detached nature awaited. Shooting Vernice and Pierreson with Grande Island as the landscape gave way for some distinctly sublime shots that one only usually sees on the big screen; but to actually be there in the flesh to witness the magnificence of this unworldly nature and the history behind it felt similar to walking in a state of inebriating trance. It’s hard to imagine we were only a few hours away from Manila. The beautiful day ended with the couple wallowing in the salt air and warm sun rays that the island had to offer. Vernice and Pierreson were ecstatic that this island, their island, gifted all of us with the ethereal prenup shoot which perfectly captured the awe-inspiring love between them. Enjoy the photos. Kim and Tim | A Siargao Pre-Wedding

No matter how many times I have shot in Siargao, the place would always reveal a side of it that’s less seen. Sometimes, I think its beauty is also just inexhaustible; that’s why there is always something new to behold every time we visit. For this shoot of Kim and Tim, we went to the signature Siargao prenup spots – Sugba Lagoon, Cloud 9, and the Magpupungko Rock Pools. We have scoured these places before, but still, we found interesting perspectives that gave the photos of Kim and Tim distinction on top of, of course, being beautiful. Many thanks to Kim and Tim (and their entire crew) for pursuing and pushing our vision for this shoot as much as I did. We encountered challenge after challenge, but each time, we broke through. The photos and the memories left in our hearts tell us that everything was worth it. Enjoy

Francis Libiran & Christian Mark Jacobs Boracay Love Wins Celebration

Love is love is love is love. It encompasses all and transcends every barrier. After all, love always wins. So much has been said and still so many things to say about the beautiful love celebration of Francis and Christian. From the all the gorgeous details, how annoyingly handsome this couple is, their dashing and stylish guests, we can go on and on. But the extraordinary love between these two is the center of it all. It was a splendid afternoon to get married in the world-famous island of Boracay, Philippines. Surrounded by the love and support of their family and friends from all over the world, Francis and Christian exchanged their heartwarming vows to each other that left most eyes overflowing with joy. The “wedding” they celebrated may not be legally binding yet but it is binding between them and all those who came to witness and rejoice with them. The two have plans to officially make it legal in the US some time next year. Since this is quite a long post, I will stop here and let you enjoy the photos. Kam and Lewis | A Shangri-la China Pre-Wedding Special

It’s a struggle to write blog posts when there aren’t many words to say, but the struggle is most when there are just too many, it seems impossible to determine where to start. I’m at a lost for words writing today’s feature. I don’t know if it is because the experience was amazing, or because the photos were some of the best I’ve shot, or because Kam and Lewis were two people just being incredible in so many ways. Honestly, I think it is all of those. This trip took us to China’s cities of Shanghai, Lijiang, and Shangri-la. Each city has its own charm and each offered a different adventure both photo-wise and experience-wise. Being a city guy, I love cosmopolitans. Shanghai obviously is a favourite and while I was familiar with it somehow, I was still surprised with how we were able to bring about the allure of old China just by walking around. From the shoots we did on a rooftop overlooking Shanghai’s captivating skyline, to those by the streets; we were able to capture contrasting sides of the city (old and new and night and day) that were both intense and beautiful. These photos are those you will see in the first part of the feature. The second part of this special post, showcases the photos from Lijiang and Shangri-la, which I didn’t know was a real place (and not just a hotel brand). A part of the Tibetan Autonomous Region, Shangri-la indeed feels like being […]

Zab and Calvin | Batanes Pre-wedding Photographer

Batanes is one of the best places to get away from it all. Even in these times when most of us are required to isolate, there is nothing that compares to the magic of how the winds of Batanes engulfs you in, embraces your soul, and takes you away. It is maddening as it is invigorating. So let us, for a little while, transport you again to this ‘other world’ with the photos of Zab and Calvin that we took just a couple of days before the entire world locked itself up. Let’s look at love at its height and its purest. Let’s look at how, where, and who isolation should be. Let’s simply look and get lost. Coming back is optional. _______ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz

Enruth and Hamilton | Boracay Pre-wedding Photographer

Boracay has been the Philippines’ most popular paradise. While in the last few years it has been somewhat embattled, the one thing that remains true is how amazing of a place it is. A few months back I was reminded of this and much much more when I shot here again after its reopening. From the famed White Beach and its Paraws to Puka, and up to an abandoned amusement park, there is always beauty to discover and to behold. Thanks to Enruth and Hamilton for taking us back here and making us remember the inexhaustible paradise that is Boracay. ____________ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz Make-up: Gery Penaso

Jeanie and Jansen | Hong Kong Pre-wedding Photographer

We’re risk-takers here in Metrophoto. But let’s be clear that the risks we take are very calculated and are worth the effort. These are always evident in our photographs and the actual accounts of our very satisfied clients. But sometimes, the universe teases this bold character of ours and gives us something we don’t know if we’ll be excited about or scared of. Last October, in the height of the protests and unrest in Hong Kong (it is still on the sustained high, I guess), we decided to push through with our planned pre-wedding shoot there with Jeanie and Jansen. Yes, we were a little concerned but the excitement of getting something really unique intrigued us too. Based on our many experiences shooting with all sorts of risk, we were confident we can come up with something cool without offering our lives in exchange. Surprisingly, the city was so usual almost the entire time. The protests were always in a different place and they were mostly organized. Not that this dismayed us, but we also realize how exaggerated some things are. But you know what’s not exaggerated? That you can have one of the best meals of your life in Yat Lok and that Jeanie and Jansen are awesome people. The meal, you have to take my word for it. As for Jeanie and Jansen, I have amazing photos (and a BTS video) below to show for it. So please, Enjoy. ___________ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz Make-up: Mark Qua Styling: […]

Lesley and Pope | Iloilo Wedding Photographer

Since we all can’t travel physically, allow us to take you places with our humble blogposts. From Balesin, we now take a quick turn towards Iloilo where we documented the beautiful wedding of Lesley and Pope. There are so many things that I love and cannot forget about this wedding. I think this is the only wedding where I had to fly for the sole purpose of meeting the clients. I never do that, but somehow I loved doing it for Lesley and Pope and they really gave me and Lana a heck of a time while we were there. That trip is something nice to think about given how restricted we are in traveling these days. Also, of all the weddings I’ve shot, this is, by far, the one with the most number of entourage – over one hundred people are listed and marched down the aisle of the Molo Church in Iloilo. It was nothing but fun and fascination. Most of all, this wedding was unforgettable because the whole experience was heightened with how great of a people Lesley and Pope are. They are the type you would want to do everything for and that’s what we did. So let us all take a quick trip to Iloilo today and enjoy these photos. _______________________ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz Coordination: Loveweds Events Make-up: Donald Viejo Gown: John Clement Flowers & Styling: Wacky Productions Video: Lula Films Host: Dyard Magsipoc

Philana and Neil | An Antipolo Pre-wedding Photographer

Apart from capturing the love between two people at their actual wedding, our team makes sure to tastefully capture exquisite portraits of the couples that trust us with their prenup shoot. And behind the glitz and glamour of choosing venues and outfits to complement the couple, a big part of our job is making sure that the couples are feeling like the best versions of themselves in the photoshoot. This was definitely the case when it came to Philana and Neil’s prenup shoot. It may not look like it, but these two were initially the shy types when it came to posing in front of our team. But that shyness quickly melted away when the couple realized that after the first set of portraits, our team’s vision for the shoot naturally aligned with the couple’s own on how they dreamt up the rendering of their prenup shots. As the shoot blissfully went by, it was a delight to see the beautiful Philana come out of her shell and really fully express herself, showing us all just how captivating of a woman she is; Neil gamely posed alongside her with his natural charm and ease, their enamored dynamic melding together to create the perfect picture of a couple madly in love and anticipating the next phase of their lives as husband and wife. We never allow different elements of a shoot to hinder us from crafting up beautiful experiences and capturing such heartwarming shots for our couples, and Philiana and Neil’s […]
