Camille and Andrea | Palacio De Memoria Wedding Photographer

Love and art. Standing the test of time, undefeatable in the face of hardship. It is no surprise that as big celebrations were put on hold during this pandemic, those that have beautifully persisted managed to find ways to manifest their love. Camila and Andrea did just that, in unforgettable fashion. Today we bring you a wedding so beautiful and unbridled, you’d forget that we’re in trying times. Camila and Andrea celebrated their love in an old-world setting but in a new normal way. With their Rome wedding postponed to next year, they decided to have an intimate celebration with their immediate families (Andrea’s family via zoom from San Marino) inside the history-rich walls of Palacio de Memoria. The day was filled with everything you’d expect from a well-realized event: beautiful people, lovely dresses, waterfalls of flowers, and outpouring emotions. If there was one thing missing, it was only the usual heavy Saturday morning traffic! I’m very proud to show you this intimate wedding, one that’s filled with elements of art, history, beauty, and tradition. Love, much like art, teaches us to endure and remain steadfast, no matter the circumstance. Best wishes, Camila and Andrea! __________________ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz Planning: Rita Neri Event Planners Dress: Mark Bumgarner Event Styling: Gideon Hermosa Video: Jason Magbanua

Joy and Ian | An Elie Saab-Inspired Prenup Shoot.

This year made us adapt to a lot of changes. And if any shoot is a perfect example, this one of Joy and Ian is the most fit. Talking about changes, pulling this off didn’t come easy. It has then been rescheduled at least twice, and there were also changes in locations. It was very uncertain if it would push through or not. The only thing that we’re sure about and is constant, is the concept – we would marry enchantment with panache and peculiarity with love. One challenging part of the planning though, is the incredibly unpredictable weather. The back-to-back super typhoons caused a bit of concern, especially for a shoot whose main idea is to be shot outdoors. But experience taught us well, and we all decided that we’ll brave whatever the sky gives us, albeit with some changes in the set-up and sequences of the shoot. Simply put, we were stubborn but flexible. Our risk-taking paid off. There were pockets of downpours that we waited out, and then it was gloomy throughout – the ideal light setting I had in mind. We incorporated several exciting elements in this shoot that evidently elevated our execution and overall uniqueness. Mirrors (a lot of them), and an owl are some. You’ll see how we put together everything in the behind-the-scenes video we added below. Change is a constant part of our everyday lives. And if we think about it, experience has already taught us to take it head-on and create […]

Doreen and Percy | A University of the Philippines Pre-wedding Shoot

Today’s post is something that’s close to my heart. I still consider my decision to study at UP many years ago to be one of the most life-altering I ever made. And I always say this whenever I get the chance because I’m not sure if I’d have improved myself or have as much confidence to do so if I chose otherwise—growing up in a below-middling household at the margin of Metro Manila before the internet age doesn’t expose one to what’s truly out there. There is nothing to compare to the nostalgia whenever I set foot in UP Diliman. I feel at home, and I feel reinvigorated. And the same goes when I meet, especially shoot, people who also have decussated the same grounds. Because of this, and because I haven’t shot here for years, I was up to creating something a bit more exciting for Doreen and Percy. Many background details about the shoot are covered by the BTS video below (or here), but I do want to emphasize that the goal was to always make the most out of all the people involved, especially Doreen and Percy. We wanted to showcase them and this particular campus where they met and fall in love – in a light that’s different and yet still true. Thank you to Doreen and Percy for allowing themselves to get a little uncomfortable and have a little more fun. These two are fantastic, and I had the best time being back. Please do […]

Vanessa and Luigi | A Manila Wedding

They say the reward is much sweeter when one has to patiently wait for it, and I had the pleasure of being witness to this truth for Vanessa and Luigi’s beautiful church wedding. Vanessa and Luigi knew that they wanted a wedding that was warm, elegant, and surrounded by beauty. But due to health restrictions in 2020, they were forced to put their grand celebration on hold. This bump in the road did not deter them from their ultimate goal of having their lives forever intertwined together as man and wife. They were blessed with an addition to their beautiful family, and the couple couldn’t be more ecstatic. It seemed that they had everything they have ever wanted and more… except for the big wedding celebration they initially planned. As some of the pandemic protocols became more lenient this year, Vanessa and Luigi decided that after all that time they spent patiently waiting, they were finally going to pursue the wedding that they had always dreamed of, including a heart-stopping portrait session in the middle of the newly built Skyway. I had the honor of shooting Vanessa and Luigi’s special day, especially since it was so easy to shoot this beautiful couple. The journey that the couple had to undertake to achieve their larger-than-life wedding serves as a great reminder that sometimes when it seems like things aren’t going the way we had planned for it to go, it is because there is something much better waiting for us on […]

Paula and Nico | A Chemistry of Love

When your union is sealed during an ongoing pandemic, something is empowering and unwavering about it. You chose to rise above and beyond just to make it happen, making it even more special. Paula is gorgeous, and Nico is striking. They look phenomenal in their individual shots, but the magic unfolds when their photos are taken together. There is an unexplainable spark and glitter in their eyes, something magical and pure that happens with every glance. A ceremony shot in the cool October (almost November) breeze of Baguio, Paula, and Nico’s wedding is one of the biggest events we have captured during a global crisis. The clear blue sky contrasts the refreshing greens and delicate details of the wedding itself. The harmony of the elements and the symphony of natural colors and emotions surrounded this still intimate and very elegant milestone for Paula and Nico. It was emotional yet candid, mixing laughter and happy tears. Nico’s smile and anticipation were palpable in the captured shots, a true man of the hour waiting for the love of his life. Paula was such a vision in her immaculate gown, surrounded by her entourage in varying shades of red. If you also recognize the influence and authority of those in attendance, you’d feel safe, secure, and proud. All of these made the event absolutely picturesque and memorable – indeed for everyone who attended but primarily for me, as their photographer. I’m grateful to Paula and Nico for their trust and love, and I […]

Sam and Cheston I Misibis Bay Wedding Photographer

Even after countless out-of-town sets, the prospect of shooting a celebration for the first time in a location I’ve never been to never fails to excite and inspire me. For Samantha and Cheston’s wedding, we were given the opportunity to shoot at the magnificent Misibis Bay, located in the beautiful province of Albay. I was truly excited for this shoot to the point that I didn’t mind, due to my tight schedule, travelling overnight via land in order to reach the venue. And it was well-worth the effort when I feasted my eyes on the poignantly beautiful cliffs and serene waters of the island; I was immediately enthralled. The majestic backdrop of Misibis Bay served to enhance Samantha’s own ethereal beauty; she was truly a delight to meet, with charming looks that emanated from within, disarming anyone she’d flash that gorgeous smile at. And it was as clear as day that the groom Cheston was oh so smitten by his bride; all throughout their wedding day he could not contain his joy, constantly grinning ear-to-ear with that smile that one makes when they believe they are the luckiest person on the planet. And Cheston was indeed the luckiest fellow alive as he watched, with tears of joy in his eyes, his stunning Samantha walk down the aisle towards him. Family and friends gathered around were not able to stop the shedding of their own tears as well, which I personally see as an exemplary omen signifying that their loved ones […]

Clariz and Anjo | Zamboanga Wedding Photographer

I’ve been shooting weddings for fifteen years now. And while we have achieved (and lost) many things, some accomplishments are right there at the top in making us happy and feel so much like a winner.  One of the best ones is when we get to shoot the weddings of all siblings in the family. The loyalty and contentment it symbolizes are incomparable. While this has happened quite a few times already, today’s feature is the first time that all the weddings in the family happened in the same city outside of Metro Manila.  We traveled to Zamboanga again a few months back to shoot a wedding from the Devero Family; this time, it was the wedding of Clariz with Anjo.  It was only a little over a year when we were there to cover the wedding of Cyra, Clariz’s elder sister. While Cyra and Clariz are the only two siblings, shooting their weddings is really one for our books. Their preference for us smites us, and we love them back to bits. You see, weddings like this only get better as we get to shoot more from the same family. We become closer to everyone, and eventually, it’s like attending a reunion – a reunion that you are so excited to be a part of and to work on.  I wish that Cyra and Clariz had another sibling because I don’t think I can wait for their kids to get married. But in all seriousness, things like these are […]

Mariane and Alvin | A Panglao Bohol Wedding

Bringing you back to that wonderful day in Bohol several weeks ago when Mariane and Alvin celebrated their love in one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in the country. The wedding was stunning and yet had that laidback feeling, and the only thing that overcame the scorching heat that day was the warmth of the people that took part in it, especially Mariane and Alvin. You wish the day never ended, but we’re happy to have all these photos to share with you again to bring you back to the wedding that brought us all back in time. Enjoy.

The Baguio Wedding of Shar and Mc

The fresh and cold air breeze touches your skin and the magnificent scent of pines tingle your nose. It was the perfect day to have the perfect wedding for Shar and Mc. Final preparations were happening and organisers were rushing here and there to get everything done. The women were laughing with the lovely bride, and the men were congratulating the groom. Everyone, including me, was excited to see Shar walk down that aisle surrounded by the beauty of nature. But fate had other plans when it started to rain and we had to move from the garden to the ballroom. What’s beautiful about this couple is that they did not let this unpredictable bump ruin their wedding. They knew that having each other, and having your beloved family and friends celebrate marriage with you is more than enough. Shar and Mc’s wedding reminded me that marriage is more than the venue, it is about love and sincerity towards one another. I hope that you see that in our pictures and be inspired.
