Megan Young and Mikhael Daez | Annecy France Pre-wedding Special

We are all crazy about beautiful photos. Those that will make us pause a little bit more in the seemingly endless scroll we do every day. Sometimes it takes a lot of planning and preparation and the entire village to create frames that captivate in very distinct ways. I think it’s safe to say that this is what Metrophoto is known for. And then there are times, as we’ve come to find, not much is really needed. Just let go and let love flow. We do this often as well. Today though, this feeling of unbuttoned shooting takes center stage as we share with you the official prenup photos of Megan Young and Mikhael Daez. This exclusive set, the only pre-wedding photos that Megan and Mik did, takes us to the alpine town of Annecy, France. Also known as the Venice of the Alps because of its winding canals and cobbled streets, this lake town was the perfect setting to witness Megan and Mik in their unbridled elements. These two are as stunning and as natural as the views of southeastern France. Within them exists some sort of surrealness that keeps you locked in and wanting to stay and see more. And we hope that through the photos in this post, you too will be able to feel that magic. After all, we all are suckers for beautiful and tasteful photos, no matter in the manner they were shot. Enjoy. _________ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz, Erron Ocampo

Coleen and Billy | Addis Ababa Prenup

After a grueling travel schedule from Gondar to the Semien Mountains then back to Gondar and then to Lalibela, we were set to finish our Ethiopia adventure in the country’s capital, Addis Ababa. We only had the whole day to spend in Addis Ababa. From Lalibela, our plane touched down at around 11am and we went straight to an art gallery and restaurant for lunch. The Ethiopian art present there was remarkable, all of us ended up buying a piece or two or three. This was the day we would shoot our last set and then by evening we would fly back to Manila. To save time, after lunch Coleen and Billy went straight to the hotel to get ready for the shoot while me, Erron and the other reps went to check the location. After shooting more of the countryside the first two days, the idea for this set was to show more of an urban setting. The Addis Ababa spice market was the ideal location. But of all the days we could shoot there, it had to be on the only day of the year the market is closed because of a holiday. We were in a desperate situation. We drove around the whole city and it seemed that our fallback was a church or one of the city’s government buildings, which we would be ok but we still have to get a permit for. Our last hope was a fruit market where we found one store open. […]

Megan Young and Mikael Daez | A Special Subic Wedding Feature

Metrophoto has always been about doing “more.” The right kind of more. The tasteful kind of more. We are lucky to be able to document the most elaborate weddings but, every so often, something different comes along. The right kind of different. The unforgettable kind of different. Megan Young and Mikhael’s Daez wedding – actually, their entire wedding journey – was just that. It was intimate and pared-down, but nonetheless touching and beautiful. It was a true representation of who Megan and Mik are: two people crazy in love that wanted to focus on what’s important and do things their way. Less on the fuss, more on the fun. They didn’t want any trends to influence how they dreamt of their wedding and their photos to be. What mattered most was to celebrate with the people dearest to them. It was a wonderful thing to witness. Even with their prenup shoot that we did in Annecy, France last year (see it here), the couple kept it low-key and hassle-free. It is captivating as it is raw. These photos are seemingly so simple but they draw you in. One can’t help but take a second look. According to their wishes, we shot everything as unobtrusively as we could. I do have to say thank you to Megan and Mik because their wedding allowed us to showcase our brand of creative yet raw storytelling. The results and I hope you agree, are gorgeous! Today, I am happy to finally share the highlights […]

Tim & Jonas Pre-Wedding Session

We were set to do the pre-wedding shoot of Tim & Jonas just outside the metro and as we try to do on all our shoots, we research and plan out the shoot before the actual day. I asked exactly how do we get to the location and how much time we needed to get there so I can give a good estimate on our shooting time. But sometimes, there will be curveballs thrown along the way that we have to deal with to make sure we have a successful shoot, to the best of our ability, at the end of the day. This was the case for Tim and Jonas’ pre-wedding shoot. Even if we have planned out our schedule for optimum shooting time, we were met with an hour delay early on, even if me and my team were early at the meeting place. Then just as when we were making our way to the shoot location, a sudden downpour pushed us back another 30 minutes or so. This required me to be exact and decisive about every pose and spots for the remaining time we had left. The reward in the end for me was that when the pre-wedding photos were shown during the wedding reception, Tim and Jonas told me they were surprised with how beautiful the photos came out despite all the challenges and unfortunate circumstances we had to go through during the shoot. Aila and Oscar | Calasiao Pangasinan Wedding Photographer

I have shot weddings in different places. From international countries like Japan and San Francisco to our most beloved country – the Philippines. I have traveled here and there but it is my first time shooting a wedding in Calasiao, Pangasinan. Some couples want to do their wedding in the city or somewhere special and far from home but for some, they prefer to stay and celebrate where their roots are. This is exactly what Aila and Oscar did. There was a certain kind of nostalgia shooting them in their hometown; it was extravagant yet intimate. Working with this couple was both fun and smooth sailing. It was very easy to connect with them, most especially with the Oscar, as we have similar work and interests – photography. I always find it a privilege to shoot a fellow photographer. Enjoy! _____________ Suppliers: Photo: Erron Ocampo Video: Mayad Studios Coordination: Charles & Co Events Gown: Michael Miguel

Shanee & Jamie | Sofitel Philippine Plaza Wedding

There is a misconception that Metrophoto only shoots super serious and dramatic photos. Probably that’s because in our Instagram posts, you’ll mostly see couples not smiling in photos. But if you look at our portfolio, you’ll see that we actually have photos of people smiling, laughing, and couple portraits that are not too serious. We always say that the photos will reflect what goes on during the wedding day. If you and your friends and families are fun loving and laughs a lot, it will surely be captured. Yes we do very editorial portraits that has been a benchmark for a lot of wedding photographers, but we sure do shoot a lot of photos with happy and fun loving couples and guests. :)   Suppliers: Coordination: Getting Married Philippines Makeup: Albert Kurniawan Bridal Gown: Joe San Antonio Groom’s Suit: Francis Libiran Video: Mayad Studios Flowers: Vatel Manila Reception Setup: Forscink

Janet and Christian | Boracay Wedding Photographer

I have worked with many brides in the past—business owners, artists, professionals and the like. But today, our feature is all about 2018 Miss Philippines USA Janet Hammond and her now husband Christian. With the salty smell of the sea, the bright sun, and family surrounding the bride and groom, Janet’s beach wedding held in the beautiful island of Boracay nothing but shouted simplicity with elegance. I always say to most of our couples that 80% of our brides and grooms are not used to being in front of the camera, Janet is definitely one of the exceptions. It is certainly true that she’s a woman who delivers with the best of her capabilities. Verona Italy Wedding of Karen & Antonio

Verona, Italy – the city most known for being the setting of the most popular romantic tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. People all over the world come here to relive their story and be in awe of this gorgeous city. Karen and Antonio’s wedding brought us to this beautiful part of the world where Antonio was born and raised. Karen is a good friend of mine from school and I was thrilled when she said she was getting married, and that the wedding was going to be in Italy. This definitely is one of the most exquisite weddings I was able witness and photograph. More than the charming Villa Zambonina, the lovely food and styling, and the whole of Verona, Italy, what’s most special about this wedding are the people who were present. Special thanks to Elia Fochesato for assisting me during the wedding. Camille and Perkin | Christ the King Wedding Photographer

Metrophoto brides have this common trait – they have a certain strength in personality, and they always have a kind heart, some more apparent than most. Camille is one of those who has a petite and sweet persona but once you get to know her more, you’ll see the fire. Perkin on the other hand was kind and steady as a rock. Camille and Perkin showed a perfect picture of a couple who complimented one another. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a grand celebration like this, and we may not see something similar for quite a while, but I hope this reminds us to keep the faith that things will soon be back to normal.  In the meantime, enjoy Camille and Perkin’s wedding photos! __________________ Suppliers: Photo: Erron Ocampo Coordination: The Knot Events Video: Cinema Works Make-up: Cherry Pacheco Stylist: Jacqs Floral Gown: Rosenthal Tee Prep Dress: Happy Andrada Band: Da Capo Musicians Emcee: Jerome Go Cake: Indulge Patisserie Ph
