Eunice and Patrick | A Manila Wedding

Romance is often perceived as an ideal scenario like entering a greenhouse filled with beautiful blooming roses. A rosy life, as they say, when everything in the world seems to smile back in every possible way. Finding the perfect love is somewhat subjective. To most people, the perfection of love is the beauty of two souls finding each other among billions of people in the world. For Eunice and Patrick, it is finding each other, and fighting for a love that only comes once in a lifetime. Circumstances and other challenges besotted the union of this humble and charming couple, and having some things they wished they could didn’t materialize as planned. Relationships are often tested every once in a while, but for these two, their test came early. But despite all these emotional hurdles, the tears during the ceremony felt like waves of comforting drizzle on an overcast day. An assurance of a union surrounded by people who have believed in their love and their story right from the very start. A love worth celebrating, a love worth fighting for. Just like how the lyrics of the song “Love Will Always Win” goes: Fight for love, and the world tries to break us down.. But the world will bend, and the fight will end.. Love will always win.. Eunice and Patrick allow us to learn that not all love stories are surrounded with flawless and smooth-sailing circumstances. But when love is worth the fight, you hold your head up high and […]

Hana and Nich | East Ocean Palace Tinghun

In most of the Tinghuns I have attended and shot, the bride to be usually chooses a traditional and lavish red gown to wear.  But in our feature today, Hana chose a modern yet sophisticated gold gown to wear. Every detail, from their tinghun invites to their cakes, and even their giveaways (made of AURO chocolates of course!) were well thought of. Both their creativity and attention to detail were seen in every corner of the room. It was both grand and beautiful, and I bet that their guests thought of it as well. Against the backdrop of the pandemic, their photos show that we can still be hopeful about the future. Just as Nicholai and Hana are looking forward to a bright future, may we also look to the future with hope as we pray for the end of the crisis.  May these photos enable you to see our circumstances with the right perspective. __________________ Suppliers: Photo: Paolo Nierves Make-up: Jake Galvez Styling: Teddy Manuel Coordination: Tinghun Tris Lights and Sounds: High Impact Events Ceremony Table: Imajic Touch Host: Trina Coleen Ong Ceremony: East Ocean Palace [shareprints gallery_id=”81419″ gallery_type=”masonry” gallery_position=”pos_center” gallery_width=”width_100″ image_size=”medium” image_padding=”5″ theme=”dark” image_hover=”zoomin” lightbox_type=”slide” comments=”true” sharing=”true”]

Jane and Mark | Tagaytay Pre-wedding Photographer

When it comes to love, everyone usually tells me that just like magnets, opposites attract. I was never quite sure if that was true until I met Jane and Mark. While working with them on their pre-wedding, I began to see and understand why a cool, calm and collected person such as Mark fell in love with a feisty and gorgeous woman like Jane. Their personalities and characteristics complement one another so much that it’s no surprise why fate has brought them together. A nurse and a doctor walking side by side to save many lives will soon walk side by side in holy matrimony to create a beautiful life together. Enjoy their pre-wedding photos. ____________ Suppliers: Photo: Paolo Nierves Make-up: John Pagaduan Styling: Aira Franco-Capistrano Gown: Michael Leyva [shareprints gallery_id=”74078″ gallery_type=”masonry” gallery_position=”pos_center” gallery_width=”width_100″ image_size=”medium” image_padding=”5″ theme=”dark” image_hover=”zoomin” lightbox_type=”slide” comments=”true” sharing=”true”]

Evelyn and Neil | A Manila Tinghun Photographer

Before the pandemic, I was shooting a lot of Tinghun ceremonies, and it’s been a while since I’ve shot one that is this big. The guests and venue were like the old normal, but of course still making sure that everyone, from suppliers to the guests, was safe! I missed this festive mood that used to be a normal thing of the past. I was so used to big and extravagant celebrations in the past, but since the pandemic, I have come to appreciate these little things of how we can have fun, celebrate, create beautiful photographs and continuously be cautious of our safety. As we continue living in an extension of this GCQ, may we all take good care of ourselves so we can look forward to a future that we can consider as the better normal. Kudos to Evelyn and Neil for a successful celebration of tradition that was ELEVATED. SAFE. BEAUTIFUL. #onlymetrophoto __________________ Suppliers: Photo: Paolo Nierves Makeup: Rosa Patrick Coordination: Tinghun Tris Gown: Jo Rubio Ceremony Table: Imajic Touch Cake: Mannix Peña Host: Fashion Pulis [shareprints gallery_id=”88454″ gallery_type=”masonry” gallery_position=”pos_center” gallery_width=”width_100″ image_size=”medium” image_padding=”5″ theme=”dark” image_hover=”zoomin” lightbox_type=”slide” comments=”true” sharing=”true”]

Raine and JC | Las Casas Pre-wedding Photographer

There is always something evocative about a slow and fully fledged love — a love that has been tested but survived — a love refined by time. For a couple about to celebrate 15 years of marriage, having a pre-wedding photoshoot in one of the most celebrated destinations in the Philippines is a testament to their humble beginnings, their triumphs on their journey, and the beautiful years ahead of them.  Capturing these moments gave me the answer to questions in my mind about resilience and certainty, as crystal clear as the gentle waves that constantly move forward to embrace the shore and as resolute as the beautiful architecture of these historical structures that have stood the test of time. Seeing James and Ariane’s journey is a testament to the unwavering and unrelenting force that is love. And I realized, love is here to stay; you just need to have the courage to hold on to it with every single heartbeat, for a decade and a half, until forever and a day… Photography: Paolo Nierves of Metrophoto Videography: Michelle Centillas of Forevermine Wedding Films HMUA: Say Santayana | Albert Muyo Styling: Styling by Yvonne Camay Wedding Gown: White by Vera Wang [shareprints gallery_id=”100999″ gallery_type=”masonry” gallery_position=”pos_center” gallery_width=”width_100″ image_size=”medium” image_padding=”5″ theme=”dark” image_hover=”zoomin” lightbox_type=”slide” comments=”true” sharing=”true”]

Kristine and Javish | Container Yard Pre-Wedding Photos

A container yard would not be the first thing on someone’s mind for a pre-wedding shoot, but this couple set themselves apart from the others. As most of us know, all Metrophoto couples want to be different. Needless to say, this couple is not an exception from that statement. Kristine and Javish is unlike any other couple as they plan to celebrate a Catholic and an Indian wedding in one day. For their pre-wedding shoot, they chose a container yard somewhere around the port area of Manila. A peculiar place for an equally remarkable couple. It is evident in their photos that posing on fork lifts and climbing up container vans were not a problem for them. See more of this extraordinary couple from the photos below.Looking at them, I hope you see a somewhat different place can be made beautiful too. Millie and Dom | A Shangri-la The Fort Wedding

I love how weddings vary from one another. Each shows the unique and special personalities of the couple. Some couples prefer to have a pre-wedding that’s entirely different from the theme of their big day, while some want continuity and consistency. Millie and Dom, who did a neon-themed pre-wedding a couple of months ago in Poblacion, Makati (see feature here), wanted to stay true to this theme for their wedding. Every detail, from the decor to the dresses, spoke of their free-spirited personalities. Having their bridesmaids and groomsmen wear black on their wedding day brought out their colorful personalities. There was so much love in the air, so many emotions and so many memories to treasure for Millie and Dom. You might be blinded by the bright neon lights but the real highlight was our blooming bride and our groom beaming with joy on this day. Whitney and Stephen | A Manila Wedding Photographer

If you ask me what two words to describe Whitney and Stephen’s love story, I would say “Potato Chips.” Whitney, who is a fan of potato chips ordered “Krunchy Patatas” from Stephen’s brother, who was the owner of this potato chip business. It just so happened that it was Stephen who handled Whitney’s order. Stephen was immediately smitten and attracted to her. In the long run, as more and more potato chips were consumed, I believe Stephen wanted Whitney to be more than just a regular customer. He wanted her to be a special partner and his future wife. As you scroll through the photos of Whitney and Stephen, may it make each one of you realize how destiny and love works. That your true love can come in different ways and forms — meeting someone in the gym, others can be classmates or officemates or just from randomly getting a cup of coffee. As for these two “Potato Chips” and look how far they’ve come. Enjoy the photos the same way I took them! ______________________________________ Suppliers Photo: Paolo Nierves Video: Treehouse Story Make-up: Cherry Pacheco Gown: Rosa Clara Philippines Suit: Francis Libiran Stylist: Erika Que Host: Max Tiu Coordination: Christine Ong Te Events [shareprints gallery_id=”88961″ gallery_type=”masonry” gallery_position=”pos_center” gallery_width=”width_100″ image_size=”medium” image_padding=”5″ theme=”dark” image_hover=”zoomin” lightbox_type=”slide” comments=”true” sharing=”true”]

Michell and Hans | A Manila Wedding

These post-pandemic years really gave us an eye-opening vision in terms of celebrating moments, as these are the first years in which the better normal truly started to unravel slowly for the first time since the unprecedented pandemic that really took a toll on momentous events. This wedding was also my immediate engagement after a pre-wedding session in Spain, which really made me feel excited because this meant we are embracing a new and better normal, and things are going back to how they should be. For Michell and Hans, their wedding was like a breath of fresh air, a sliver of hope after huge setbacks and challenges that really made their union special and signified the start of great tomorrows and new chapters ahead of them – now together as one. The wedding allowed me to capture impeccable unmasked emotions, literally and figuratively, of the couple and the ones they hold dear with classy and chic aesthetics. Love sustains, and love endures. This event allowed me to realize that life always gives, and how we receive each gift and each day is all on us. All we have to do is to live, love, and embrace the beauty of living and loving in its purest sense.
