Anj and Marco | Subic Pre Wedding Photographer

No matter how we try to plan a shoot, there will be revisions once we execute them. Most of the time, we end up compromising because the ideas are just too grand, and there are things we cannot control. But sometimes, we end up doing more because everything would call for it – the place, the weather, the people, our couple, the universe. This shoot of Anj and Marco is one of those exceptions. We shot unplanned sets because everything called for it – just one thing after another, allowing the shoot to flow, and what was a day and a half shoot felt like a vacation! Anj and Marco rode every possible vehicle – land, air, and sea in settings that resembled Hawaii, New Zealand, and Africa. You can just imagine those, or you can also check the photos out. Props to these two for making it so easy and so fun. For a good 36 hours, it felt like we were in our own little world in Emonpulo, or as I would like to describe it personally, Lost the TV series prenup edition.

Anne and Don | Cappadocia Pre-Wedding Photographer (Part 1)

Be sure to check part 2 of this 2-part Cappadocia series of Anne and Don. There are so many things to talk about today’s Cappadocia pre-wedding shoot feature: about how great it is to be back shooting here again, about how we had some interesting ideas from the previous trip that we were able to execute this time around, about how this amazing place just never gets old, and many many other things. But the best thing about today’s feature of this Cappadocia engagement session is that mere descriptions don’t give it justice. We have a breathtaking set of photos and a wonderful behind-the-scenes video that will not only show you how unique this experience is, but also take you there, exactly where the heart of the action took place. From the Cappadocia hot air balloons, to the primitive stone churches, and all the beautiful spots this part of Turkey has to offer, we made sure that we show what Cappadocia is all about, and more. Very grateful to Anne and Don for letting us experience Cappadocia once again. Enjoy. ________________ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz Make-up: Mark Qua Styling: Adrianne Concept

Donna and Ivan | Las Casas de Filipinas

Most pre-wedding shoots are a challenge on a number of levels. We designed them to be like that at Metrophoto because we absolutely don’t want to compromise anything. In the case of Donna and Ivan, the challenge was taken up a notch because we had their shoot, six days before their wedding — pretty tight considering some couples shoot 9 months before they tie the knot. They also chose the beautiful yet much-publicised Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan. Las Casas is a lovely place, with heritage homes collected from all over the country and transported and restored in Bataan in a kind of workmanship that’s very impressive in any standards. Of course, this means it’s a popular venue for other pre-wedding shoots – Metrophoto alone shot there four times last year. So it was another challenge was to make it as unique and memorable for Donna and Ivan. But honestly, the challenge was short-lived. I would really like to take credit for stunningly amazing photos that we were able to create but that would be an utter disservice to the couple, especially to Donna who took what was already a pretty place to such gorgeous levels. At one point, they pretended to crawl out of a wall facing the one of the canals on the property just to provide the frame with such a unique angle. At this shoot, Donna and Ivan showed us that it’s still possible to shoot on a tight schedule at a popular venue […]

The Wedding of Vanessa and Paul

You might remember Vanessa and Paul from the feature of their prewedding shoot is Las Casas Filipinas de Acusar a few months back. This time, this good looking couple will grace our pages again with the photos from their beautiful wedding last month. One of my most fond or should I say embarrassing moments from both times I’ve shot them were those when Vanessa’s mom scolded me. Once during the pre-wedding shoot when she got bored with all the things we were doing and then during the wedding day when we were shooting Vanessa wearing a lingerie for her boudoir. But we are besties, and that’s why we go back to being buddies soon after, like nothing happened. Enjoy the photos, it’s not everyday we see beautiful lawyers get married. The Wedding of Christy and Onin

Every wedding has a story. Yes it is almost always about love but in the subplots is where things diverge. The wedding of Christy and Onin is a tale of triumph and tragedy. It is about finding and winning your the one true love and then also losing your other great love. Christy was already without parents and a few days before her wedding, her brother that is the closest to her, the one who would take her down the aisle, got very sick. It was a tough situation but Christy stayed strong. The wedding was very beautiful and successful despite the situation. And a few days after, her brother died. It’s hard to imagine what they are going through but there are always the things we cannot control. And like what they always say, when God closes one door he makes sure that there is a better one for you to open. For Christy, that is Onin. Every wedding has a story and every wedding is beautiful.

Kristine and Gasper | A Stanjel Slovenia Wedding

I wouldn’t have thought that I would celebrate a birthday in Slovenia. But like many of us to who follow our passion obsessions (right Kristine?), we suddenly find ourselves in unexpected places in the most unusual times. Stanjel is a quaint little hilltop town in the middle of Slovenia. I had no clue about it but flew anyway to shoot the wedding of Kristine and Gasper. The only thing I was sure of then was that it was going be wonderful because Kristine, as how I knew her, does nothing less. Together with familiar faces that I love and new ones that loved instantly, this traditional Slovenian wedding (consisted of two ceremonies) proved to be one of my most treasured experiences. From the ham-and-warmth-indulged pre-wedding dinner up to the love-and-fun-filled and even more ham-indulged wedding, we feasted on great moments and emotions to photograph. I hope that through the photographs in this feature we will be able to take you back to Stanjel not only to relive Kristine and Gaspers breathtaking wedding, but also see how I celebrated one of my most memorable birthdays. Enjoy. Special thanks to Marco Pajo for shooting with us in this wedding. Suppliers Line-up: Make-up: Third Octavio Wedding Gown: Val Tugaba Flowers and Coordination: AK Weddings

Shirley and Kevin | A Metrophoto Tinghun Coverage

I rarely get commissioned to shoot a Tinghun or a Chinese Engagement, thus when I do, I know that it would be something quite special. What I didn’t expect was how ‘special’ today’s feature was going to be like. I have seen my share of Tinghuns but there is no comparison to this one of Shirley and Kevin’s. I may have been surprised, but thinking about how Shirley and Kevin are I came to understand that I should not have expected anything less. Their taste and attention to detail are sublime and of no compromise. Shirley knows what she wants and how she wants it and all of these were manifested throughout the event. From a custom-made ancient Chinese door, to lamps and chandeliers you only see in movies, and to how each person wore a unique cheongsam and yet all go together, there wasn’t a place or a piece not worth noting much less photographing. It was a sight like no other. Please, enjoy. Suppliers: Make-up: Albert Kurniawan Video: Jason Magbanua Gown: Patty Ang Styling: Gideon Hermosa Emcee and Planning: Jerome Go Giveaways: Tris

The Wedding of Tin and Mac

Excited to share with you the photos today of Tin and Mark. I’ve known Tin for many years, she is the sister of Alvin, who got married Charity, that I also covered. Interestingly, Tin is also my dentist. I’m sure you can see how fascinating it is to shoot someone who takes care of you teeth. Of course we shouldn’t expect anything less than the ideal smiles right? Absolutely. It was such great delight and honor shooting these two wonderful individuals and their families that we have grown close to already. We had such great fun shooting the entourage portraits beside the church and inside the parking building – everyone was just in on it :) I hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed shooting them. Congratulations again to Tin and Mark and thank you for the trust and love, we can’t wait to see you guys again next time we shoot your family events. Alyanna’s Harry Potter – Themed Debut

I will admit it, I really thought that I’ve see it all. More than 10 years of shooting events of all kinds, I didn’t think I would be this amazed. It is like being a kid again and visiting a brand new theme park, only here you didn’t expect it to be this grand, this beautiful and this well-thought of. How many times have we heard or seen a Harry Potter themed event right? And that is what makes this debut celebration of Alyanna even more incredible – the concept is not unique but somehow we were all still got blown away. You’ll see features of this event all over the internet now as it has become a sensation – deservingly so. Kudos to all the people who were involved here – to say that every one of them stepped-up is an understatement and I feel humbled to be a part of such a team. I also can’t stress enough the impact of Alanna’s mom in conceptualising and executing ideas – she keeps telling us that she is a lucky person but I think it is because she make things happen that why things always turn out great for her. I have been to the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London and have seen the theme parks multiple times, and let me just say that the work that Larry Natividad did here is just jaw-dropping. Consider all the constraint of time, of space, and of other resources and you can […]
