Anne and Don | Cappadocia Pre-wedding Photographer (Part 2)

Be sure to check part 1 of this 2-part Cappadocia series of Anne and Don. There are so many things to talk about today’s Cappadocia pre-wedding shoot feature: about how great it is to be back shooting here again, about how we had some interesting ideas from the previous trip that we were able to execute this time around, about how this amazing place just never gets old, and many many other things. But the best thing about today’s feature of this Cappadocia engagement session is that mere descriptions don’t give it justice. We have a breathtaking set of photos and a wonderful behind-the-scenes video that will not only show you how unique this experience is, but also take you there, exactly where the heart of the action took place. From the Cappadocia hot air balloons, to the primitive stone churches, and all the beautiful spots this part of Turkey has to offer, we made sure that we show what Cappadocia is all about, and more. Very grateful to Anne and Don for letting us experience Cappadocia once again. Enjoy. ____________ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz Make-up: Mark Qua Styling: Adrianne Concept

Nicole and Kurt | A Japan Pre-Wedding Special

Metrophoto recognizes the value of being unique. That’s the reason we purposely almost never do the same location twice, especially in prenup shoots. If ever we have to, the next one should be obviously different than the first. But there is a location that we cannot help but shoot often. Be it because it’s just really a client favourite or maybe our own favourite, shooting in the Shibuya crossing has been an anomaly of sorts. We’ve shot here almost ten times and we’ve accepted that there will always be a next one. Late last year, we found ourselves in the world’s busiest crossing yet again – shooting and of course, well, crossing. This time it was Nicole and Kurt who we brought for some Shibuya magic. All of the shoots we had here are very different from one another, whether it’s from a different angle, time of day, poses, etc. nothing is ever close to the others. For today’s feature, we got a little help from above as it was pouring heavily while we had the shoot – something that brought a nice little mood to everything. I’m sure you’ll appreciate what we mean when you see the photos in this post. We, in the meantime, appreciate how Nicole and Kurt worked patiently with us not only in this wet Shibuya set but although out their Japan pre-wedding shoot – which, after a usual repeat of a location, the rest of the sets we got to shoot somewhere unique. Please, […]

Kaye and Janus | Pililla Windmill Farm Pre-wedding Shoot

The smell of the green grass, the touch of sunlight, and the sight of blue skies greeted us as we got underway for Kaye and Janus’ pre-wedding shoot. But most of all, it was the imposing view of the Pillila windmills that got us all exciting. Not more than just a couple of hours away from Manila, there stood such giants that made an already beautiful landscape, an even more exceptional one. It was somewhat hard to imagine how I was going to make Janus pose in front of the camera, considering that I’ve known him for quite some time. But when he arrived with his fiancé, Kaye, they were ready to slay it. Every pose was like a graceful dance. It was like watching them move to the rhythm of their heartbeat. I could feel their connection in every shot. Little instructions were needed, just more clicks of the camera. Having that vintage combi van was also a nice touch to how chill and beautiful these two and their shoot were. But it doesn’t stop there. Kaye, in particular, was full of charming energy that despite having no stylist at the last minute, she was able to improvise by choosing and doing the pullout the clothes herself. Janus, meanwhile, got the drinks and van ready. Regardless of that small hiccup and the last-minute change in venue, we finished in quite a speed and with beautiful photos to show for it. Janus and Kaye decided to make the most out […]

Danica and Jikko | A Whitespace Manila Wedding

No two love story is ever the same. This is the reason, no matter how many weddings tend to look alike – on venues, on supplier line-up, etc, we give them their due distinction by always telling a unique story with the photographs we take. I first met Danica and Jikko in Barcelona more than two years ago when Danica’s sister, Aika, got married there. They were a pretty and young couple then, and so in love with each other. Now, they are prettier and naturally, a bit less young but even more in love. Their story is inspiring, they’ve shared it to me during our meetings and I heard more about it from their vows. It’s such a wonderful feeling to be the one to tell such a love story. Different couples tell different tales and this one is about the love of Danica and Jikko and all the amazing people that love and support them. Allow us to relive their love over and over again, through the photos we share below. __________ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz Gown: Mak Tumang Make-up: Albert Kurniawan Coordination: Empire Weddings Videography: Mayad Florist: Dave Sandoval Caterer: Bizu Emcee: Eri Neeman

Anna Cay and Geloy | A Metrophoto Special

While Anna Cay and Geloy are as simple and genuine as people can get, there was nothing ordinary in this prenup shoot that we had with them a few months ago. The government just declared a GCQ status in Metro Manila and Covid 19 was still very much a scare (it still is). We drove a few hours north to The Cabins in San Miguel where we can freely shoot and have fun. Being in lockdown for most of the year, we made the most out of being outside with nature and roamed the fields and climb a tree. I can’t appreciate Anna and Geloy enough for allowing is to be our creative selves and execute our vision – it was no easy feat but they made it a great experience out of it. I hope you all enjoy these photos as much as we did. _________ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz Make-up: Mariah Santos Hairstyling: Marvin Santos Location: The Cabin Resorts PH

Trina and Randy | A Manila Intimate Wedding Photographer

The soulful connections I’ve made through all the shoots we’ve done at Metrophoto have always been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my job. This particular post is especially close to my heart because it has truly been a wonderful family affair to be a part of Trina and Randy’s special day, since I photographed her sister Monicca’s wedding 6 years ago and then her aunt Camille’s wedding a year after that. Czarina, the youngest of three sisters, did an amazing job on Trina’s make-up. Imagine if I get to shoot her wedding as well – three beautiful Metrophotobride sisters. Those stuff are made for movies. I made sure to capture Trina and Randy’s wedding through the lens of not just a professional photographer, but also that of a family friend that has seen the hard work that the couple put into making sure that their special day was exactly what they wanted it to be: classic, sophisticated, and yet a standout. And that it indeed was, and more. The couple’s special day did not come without any hiccups; what was once a guest list of about 400 people had to be trimmed to a lean 50 guests due to the health restrictions that come with these times. Nevertheless, Trina and Randy gladly made lemonade out of life’s lemons and ultimately had an intimate and beautiful ceremony celebrating their union with those nearest and dearest to their hearts. I love looking back at these photos; the images show how […]

Abby and Patrick | The Manila Peninsula Pre-Wedding Photographer

This shoot had the making of an absolute classic, and when we say classic here at Metrophoto, it’s the classic that one will never forget. A classic that, as it stands the test of time and changing trends, also stays relevant because it was made with such distinction. And behind every elegantly polished prenup shoot, there is a couple who envisioned well, planned well, and ultimately chose well. Suppliers can take on all the praises, but we wouldn’t be there to execute in the first place if we were not picked to do so. Shooting in The Manila Peninsula was absolute merit. If you have already forgotten, the place teems with the most tasteful of interiors – from its elegant lobby to the very maximalist Salon de Ning. It was really about carefully putting all those together to create a narrative that is uniquely that of Abby and Patrick’s. These two are fantastic to work with. They put out their thoughts during the planning and then let me and our teams (including that of Cath Sobrevega) do the rest. And the rest, as they all say, is now history, another Metrophoto lore, and classic in the making. Please, enjoy the photos. Photo: Oly Ruiz Make-up: Cherry Pacheco Styling: Cathleen Sobrevega

Katrina and Justin | Sagada Prenup

Sagada has always been a place of recluse and of peace. And for a few days during this shoot of Katrina and Justin, it has also been a place of true beauty and of love. This trip will always be remembered for its long drives, long hikes, and long dresses. The only things that were short of were time and breath. All of which contributed to an experience that we will all surely, well, long for. I’m grateful to Katrina and Justin for deciding on a trip that filled our SD cards with amazing pictures and our souls with inspiration. I hope it does the same to you when you view this beautiful feature. Photographer: Oly Ruiz Make-up: Joan Quizon Styling: Yvonne Camay
