Pre-Wedding

Haze and Chuck | Part 1 of a South Korea Pre-wedding Shoot

While I’ll be away for a few weeks and let Erron, Dino and Paolo hold the fort shooting our weddings, I thought it’s a good opportunity to finally share with you the complete sets of our many shoots this year. I’ll get started with a favorite. Not only are these Korea photos truly absolute but also feature Haze and Chuck one of the couples that is very close to me and the most good-looking at that. Last time I was in Korea for a shoot was 2011, and it was one for the books that I haven’t been inspired to go back. Not until, matinee idol and my lodi, Chuck said they wanted to do the shoot there as well. Who would say no to a guy who’s sartorial elegance is top notch and his bewitchingly beautiful fiancé? Definitely not me. So after seven years, a span where the Korean pop culture had also started to dominate the world, we were back. We were able to create such beautiful and diverse sets that I decided to share this in two parts. This first part from the shoot in Haneul Park and at the instagram hit Starfiield Library at the Coex Mall. Special thanks to Mariah Santos for dolling-up Haze. Tessa and Dennis | Balesin Pre-25th Anniversary Photos

Tessa and Dennis’ love for each other is like the sun; it’s both warm and bright. I enjoyed seeing them full of life. I could see the joy and excitement in their eyes. One look at them and you could immediately see that their married life is full of warmth. I saw how safe and comfortable Tessa was in the arms of Dennis. They needed no reason to love each other, they just do. As Paulo Coelho once said, “One is loved because one is loved. No reason is needed for loving.” Scroll through our pictures and see the life and warmth of this couple. Enjoy! Daphne and Carrick | Bali Pre-wedding Photographer

My 3rd time in Bali but my first time to shoot there. It was an amazing experience! A couple like Daphne and Carrick who did not want to make their pre-wedding anything but ordinary wanted to incorporate not only the beautiful landscapes of Bali into their photos but also animals from camels, to giraffes, to zebras. What struck me the most about this couple is that they obviously love to have their picture taken. Not only was this evident during the shoot itself, but also before the trip. They researched carefully places where we can do the shoot. They made sure to make this shoot their own and leave their own handiwork, most especially our now metrobride Daphne, in every photo taken. Enjoy the wild, the outgoing and the adventurous photos of Daphne and Carrick in Bali. ______________ Suppliers: Photo: Paolo Nierves Make-up: Mark Qua Styling: Miss Keith Manila [shareprints gallery_id=”71980″ gallery_type=”masonry” gallery_position=”pos_center” gallery_width=”width_100″ image_size=”medium” image_padding=”5″ theme=”dark” image_hover=”zoomin” lightbox_type=”slide” comments=”true” sharing=”true”]

Sophia and Adrian | An Intimate Home Pre-wedding Shoot

Prior to this pandemic, Sophia and Adrian asked us where they could do their prenup shoot. We threw around a lot of ideas. In the end, they had a choice between the busy streets of Binondo and, if possible, their home. But as we’ve seen, sometimes life throws you a curveball, and plans were halted because of the pandemic. Nothing beats a resilient couple, plans pushed thru and they allowed the pandemic to decide for them. Since Binondo is more often than not congested, and shooting outdoors during the MECQ was not possible, this beautiful couple decided to do their prenup in Sophia’s home. Who says a chill prenup shoot at home would be unexciting? Well, it turned out to be nothing less than exceptional (with the help of our Grab driver’s cameo, of course!) _________________________ Suppliers: Photo: Paolo Nierves Make-up: Ish Sison Styling: Yvonne Camay [shareprints gallery_id=”83874″ gallery_type=”masonry” gallery_position=”pos_center” gallery_width=”width_100″ image_size=”medium” image_padding=”5″ theme=”dark” image_hover=”zoomin” lightbox_type=”slide” comments=”true” sharing=”true”]

Vina Guerrero and Jygs Gandia | Siargao Prenup Photographer

I love that after I spend day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it’s not because I’m lonely, and it’s not because it’s New Year’s Eve… You realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. ~ When Harry Met Sally Photo: Metrophoto Siargao [shareprints gallery_id=”88794″ gallery_type=”masonry” gallery_position=”pos_center” gallery_width=”width_100″ image_size=”medium” image_padding=”5″ theme=”dark” image_hover=”zoomin” lightbox_type=”slide” comments=”true” sharing=”true”]

Trisha and Shawn | Crazy Rich Asians Elegance

It was truly a pleasure to spend such a romance-laced afternoon shooting this couple’s engagement session. Trisha and Shawn met while at a tech conference in Hawaii – she has a startup app. . They got to know each other there, and the rest was history. Fast-forward to 2022, Trisha and Shawn came to the Philippines for a vacation in Amanpulo and decided to do an impromptu prenup shoot with Metrophoto before flying back home to the US. Since both of them are of Asian heritage, they opted for a touch of old-money Asian glam in their prenup theme (think of a minimalist Crazy Rich Asians elegance). The timeless scenery at Raffles Makati made for a fitting backdrop for the couple – Trisha and Shawn shone like movie stars with an air of effortless chic. Their natural good looks took centerstage of their prenup shoot, and as you can see in the photos, the couple exudes such an uber-cool kind of glamour that can’t be feigned. I will admit, at first I was quite intimidated by this power couple, but as the shoot progressed, I quickly learned just how down-to-earth they both were and how easy it was to get along with them – to the point that it only took us 3 hours to get all the shots that we needed! The Metrophoto team had such a grand time spending an afternoon with the gorgeous Trisha and Shawn, and we’re very much looking forward to shooting their wedding in […]

Macau Destination Photographer | Miya and Ken

When one thinks about it, a destination shoot can be intimidating. Unfamiliar territory, potential logistical issues, the faint-hearted may be tempted to take the easy route instead. And this is where Metrophoto comes in. There is a reason why we’ve travelled to almost all the continents, shooting all forms of love. For sixteen years, we have consistently elevated the destination and, more importantly, made this daunting endeavor of shooting abroad so much easier. In hindsight, it seems contradictory to elevate something but somehow make the process easy. The magic formula is this: mindset, skills, and experience – and only a select few really possess that. We always create more with less. When it came to shooting Miya and Ken’s prenup in Macau, we went to familiar places and did familiar things, yet found hidden gems within those spots that gave what otherwise would’ve been a typical shoot some flavor and flair – with no added cost or complexity. Of course, it helped that Miya is an absolute stunner – that made the easy, easier, and the pretty, well, gorgeous. You’ll understand as you see the photos in this feature. So get on it. There has never been a couple who had a destination shoot and regretted it (at least not ours or not that we know of, and we’re not so insensitive). The regret is not doing it and then realizing that you should’ve just gone for it. Metrophoto is off to our next destination, and we hope our future […]

Kate and Fred | Dipolog Pre-wedding Photographer

While we are in this bizarre new norm, I can’t help but continue to think how most of our shoots are set-up in such a way that they will meet the guidelines of even the modified ECQ. Given what we’ve been through the last couple months and how uncertain things are still, that’s quite a break in the clouds. It gives us more than just hope. It gives us confidence and excitement, which we must admit is not too common these days. So allow us to take you down south to Dipolog, where Kate and Fred had their prenup shoot early this year. Because this part of the country is unknown to us, it was not easy to plan and prepare where we were going to shoot. But I was confident enough that we will find something exciting and worthwhile at all costs. Dipolog City, after all, is Fred’s turf. And find unique places we did. It was a thrilling three days. I never felt so exhausted, but seeing how Kate and Fred willed every idea I had into fruition is just amazing. I’m sure you will appreciate the behind-the-scenes video we included in this post, as it documented all of the things we went through. Including to show how shoots like this can still be the norm in this well, new norm. Enjoy the photos, and we look forward to shooting with you all sooner rather than later. ________________ Suppliers: Photo: Oly Ruiz [shareprints gallery_id=”81933″ gallery_type=”masonry” gallery_position=”pos_center” gallery_width=”width_100″ image_size=”medium” […]

Marie and Abe | An Osaka Japan Pre-Wedding

I’ve always said that Metrophoto is a customer service company that just happens to take really amazing photos. We love what we do, but we love our clients even more. It is from this philosophy that our identity was formed. Ironically or should I say fittingly, we also get the nicest and most considerate of clients. We feel that they take care of us more than we deserve. And this was brought to the extreme by Marie and Abe. Whenever I feel happy that I have delivered or have done something good for them, they do something better for me. I try to make-up for that, but then the cycle continues. I have not given up yet, but maybe I should. lol! They are just the kindest and most generous people you will ever meet, and I would understand why some people would take advantage of that. They remembered the things that I should do for myself that I myself forget, and they do it for me instead (and more). I extremely appreciate people like that and these guys, I love to bits. Today’s feature of their shoot in Osaka, Japan is a highlight of the many highlights of this year that was full of destination shoots. They almost literally told me that we should relax, which I initially resisted but then gladly obliged to. I hope you enjoy the photos (and the behind-the-scenes video) as much as we immensely did, taking them.
