Siargao Wedding Photographer | Rianne and David (Part 2 of 2)

Check out the second part of this amazing Siargao Engagement Session of Rianne and David. Click here to see the first part. ____________________ Several posts back when we featured the Siargao prenup photos of Joan and Artom, mentioned how Siargao is arguably the most photographed place in the Philippines. When we said this, we meant photos that we see all over social media and online – everyone’s in fact. Little did we know that it would be true for Metrophoto as well. Since late last year, we have shot pre-weddings and weddings here almost as much as we do in any other place outside Metro Manila. It hit us straight in the face and we just love it. Today we are sharing the first part of the Siargao engagement session of Rianne and David. For all those familiar with Siargao, we know that there is always an adventure waiting to happen, and it is no different in this one. Enjoy. Shahanie and Austin | South Africa Pre-wedding Photographer

I have always been fascinated with exploration, particularly in its golden age in our history. One that is very compelling to me was the discovery of the tip of Africa, when a series of crucial events had forced explorers to find routes to the east around unchartered oceans. Bartolomeu Dias discovered the tip of Africa after treacherously followed the coast of the continent and named it the Cape of Good Hope. Today’s feature brings us to this very iconic location. Not only was my dream of visiting The Cape of Good Hope got realized, but I was actually able to do it while pursuing a passion that has defined my life the most – photographing amazing couples and their love for one another. I must say that it is even extra special to have the experience with Shahanie and Austin. These two are connected to me in many different ways and to be able to explore and shoot the wonders of South Africa with them was nothing short of me, having the time of my life. From the Cape of Good Hope, we went on to shoot most of the country’s amazing vistas including their famed penguins of which concept, we had to tirelessly pursue, to achieve. We are proud of this Africa pre-wedding shoot. It’s Metrophoto, it’s South Africa, and it’s with a Metrophoto bride – brides actually if you count Steph, Shahanie’s sister who went with us – all the makings of something truly distinct and elevated. Please […]

Art and Raciel | Ataalaya Batangas Intimate Pre-wedding Photographer

After months of being cooped up at home because of the ECQ, we were finally given a chance to carry out Art and Raciel’s pre-wedding shoot in Batangas when the country entered GCQ. I was excited because it was my first photoshoot outside after the lockdown was lifted. But a part of me was worried because of all the checkpoints we had to go through from Quezon City all the way to Batangas. I was worried that they wouldn’t let us pass even though we had our medical certificates. Yet, lo and behold, everything went smoothly. That is exactly what we all needed—a breath of fresh air. Even though it was just for a while, it was an opportunity for Art and Raciel to leave their troubles behind and just focus on one another. As you look at their photos, I hope that they give you a breath of fresh air and remind you that love will always win. _______________ Suppliers: Photo: Kiko Pascua [shareprints gallery_id=”83791″ gallery_type=”masonry” gallery_position=”pos_center” gallery_width=”width_100″ image_size=”medium” image_padding=”5″ theme=”dark” image_hover=”zoomin” lightbox_type=”slide” comments=”true” sharing=”true”]

Kate and Jeff | A Bulacan Pre-wedding Photographer

I have always believed that we should never forget where we came from. Today’s feature is all about going back to our roots. It’s a testimony of how our past contributes heavily on who we are at present. Kate and Jeff both grew up in Pampanga under the shadow of the great Mt. Arayat.  It was also there that they met and started their love story.  So as we were discussing possible venues where they were to have their pre-nup shoot, it was only natural for them to think of the mountain which was a big part of their journey.  Not being able to find a location in Pampanga that met their expectations, we went to Bulacan where the mountain was also visible.  With excitement in her eyes, I knew we chose the right place to do their prenup shoot. Having Mt. Arayat as the backdrop for their shoot, the happy memories all came back to them and this was very evident in their smiles and countenance. I hope you see the significance of the mountain for them just as I saw it when I was taking their photos. Enjoy! ____________________________________________ Suppliers: Photo: Rae Cabradilla Make-up: Terence Buenaventura Hair: Gelo Bibrian Stylist: Sydney Yap [shareprints gallery_id=”88220″ gallery_type=”masonry” gallery_position=”pos_center” gallery_width=”width_100″ image_size=”medium” image_padding=”5″ theme=”dark” image_hover=”zoomin” lightbox_type=”slide” comments=”true” sharing=”true”]

Claire and Justin | Davao Prenup Photographer

There is a quiet allure that Davao possesses – the seemingly slower pace of life they adhere to leaves me nostalgic for the days back then when the passing of time was more an abstract concept rather than everyday reality. And I was very much looking forward to that – something laidback in terms of pacing, just taking everything in, yet getting into the groove of being very intense when it was called for. The results were abstract and also real, a combination that’s difficult to grasp, but amazing in all its aspects.  This was one of those shoots that really got my creative juices flowing since we traversed into three stunning locations in Davao, and the nearby (and the not-so-nearby) locations. We started at the spectacular Yura Highland Resort, then to the Kalipay Museum in Davao, and finished at the quaint surf town of Mati.  Each site paved the way for me to really experiment with new and exciting environments to highlight how good-looking this couple is and the places they were in.  What really took each shot to the next level was Claire’s beauty; her timeless features breathed such a serene brightness into each frame, and her courage to make my every idea possible – she was outdoing herself set after set (check the BTS video to see what I mean). Justin, of course, complemented her perfectly and was such a gentleman throughout this week-long shoot, making sure that it was also a time for us to enjoy […]

Kara and Martin | Cebu Engagement Session

I have been to many parts of the country, like in many many. But when Kara and Martin said that we would shoot in Samboan, that’s a name I hadn’t heard before, much more visited. I wouldn’t say I like surprises, but I like unusual things, and a shoot on the edge of Cebu Island sounds like it will be both.  As it turned out, the surprises were many: we were driven to Samboan at breakneck speed by a driver that holds the record for the fastest Cebu-Samboan trip (he’s an ambulance driver, so that says it all) – I enjoyed that drive, so much (a surprise in itself). Another surprise, a challenging one, was the heavy downpour before we began our hike to the waterfalls – we had just one day to shoot, and there were things that we could not afford to compromise. The final surprise was Kara and Martin, okay, maybe this wasn’t a surprise, but I had never met these two prior to arriving in town. They were just extremely pleasant and beautiful people that I thought we should have stayed there a couple of days more (surely not to hike again – maybe just stare at the endless vistas surrounding the place).  You will imagine all these as we share with you the complete set of photos from this shoot that took us to the end of the country and even back in time. It gives me all great feelings remembering how fantastic that day […]

Spain Pre-wedding Photos | Aika and Joseph

We have to admit that Aika has been one of those ‘bridesmaid crushes’ that Metrophoto keep on our mental list. These are bridesmaids we encounter that are extremely beautiful, we remember them, and hope we get to shoot their wedding. We provide the ‘premium poses’ to when it comes to our groupshots and then we follow in IG waiting when they will be engaged. Having said those, it is obvious that that wish had come true – and actually more. Not only did we get to shoot Aika and Joseph, but we got to shoot them in Barcelona, one of the most wonderful places on earth – a dream come true to ANY wedding photographer. First off is their pre-wedding shoot we shot just before their wedding. The first day we went around a few spots in Barcelona and then on the next day, we went to Tarragona for a shoot at a beach but with a beautiful Spanish Castle as part of the backdrop. This couple is stunning and natural in every little way. We put them in a spot and they just get lost in each other’s presence – it was pure delight to shoot. They couldn’t seem to get enough of each other and we can’t seem to get enough of shoootng them. It was every bit the dream we hoped for. Yet it was just a prelude to their most amazing wedding. As we wait for those, enjoy these photos first, it not everyday we get […]

Kam and Lewis | A Shangri-la China Pre-Wedding Special

It’s a struggle to write blog posts when there aren’t many words to say, but the struggle is most when there are just too many, it seems impossible to determine where to start. I’m at a lost for words writing today’s feature. I don’t know if it is because the experience was amazing, or because the photos were some of the best I’ve shot, or because Kam and Lewis were two people just being incredible in so many ways. Honestly, I think it is all of those. This trip took us to China’s cities of Shanghai, Lijiang, and Shangri-la. Each city has its own charm and each offered a different adventure both photo-wise and experience-wise. Being a city guy, I love cosmopolitans. Shanghai obviously is a favourite and while I was familiar with it somehow, I was still surprised with how we were able to bring about the allure of old China just by walking around. From the shoots we did on a rooftop overlooking Shanghai’s captivating skyline, to those by the streets; we were able to capture contrasting sides of the city (old and new and night and day) that were both intense and beautiful. These photos are those you will see in the first part of the feature. The second part of this special post, showcases the photos from Lijiang and Shangri-la, which I didn’t know was a real place (and not just a hotel brand). A part of the Tibetan Autonomous Region, Shangri-la indeed feels like being […]

Rainbow Mountain Peru | Maureen and Mark

Our entire South America shoot took 11 days and even more number of flights. We went to two amazing countries and stayed in 7 different hotels. Those numbers sounded tiring but it is nothing compared to 5100 – the number I will never ever forget, the number that almost put us in a coma. 5100 meters is the height, above sea level, of Vinicunca or Peru’s Rainbow Mountain. We were in such high spirits after a successful shoot in Machu Picchu. Little did we know that at this height, altitude sickness will sap all our confidence and energy that will leave us vulnerable throughout the trip. To give one a perspective, 5100m is quite high. It is higher than any of mountain in the rockies of North America and almost as high as the highest peaks in both Europe and Africa. In fact, Mount Fuji in Japan tops up at a mere 3500m. The problem we had was a combination of negligence and over-confidence. Our guide kept on telling us that the height is 5100m, but we didn’t bother to check what that number meant. We did read reviews that many people suffer from altitude sickness in Cusco, but after a spending a symptom-free couple of days in Machu Picchu without having to acclimatize, we thought we were fine. We planned to breeze through the shoot in the Rainbow mountain and still shoot in Cusco in the afternoon. But at 3am, my head was pounding already. The next several hours […]
