The Wedding of May and John

The weddings we shoot get bigger and bigger. What was once a shocking figure of more than a thousand, has been pedestrian nowadays. While we love huge weddings and really embrace their greatness, it’s always a delight when shoots get a mix of more a intimate celebration. Today, we feature the beautiful wedding of May and John. The day was intimate on so many ways but outpouring with beauty and emotions. Hope you enjoy the photos and have a great weekend. Roselle and Gerard | Baguio Country Club Wedding

Baguio, the Summer capital of the Philippines. The idyllic city of pines that’s dear to the hearts  of both local and foreign tourists and the go-to destination in the country. It is a piece of heaven on earth where one can walk under the cool morning sun and be covered in a blanket of fog in the afternoon. Who wouldn’t want to go to this beautiful place with its magnificent terrain, and fresh air? It’s the perfect setting to exchange “I do’s.” This is exactly what Sel and Ger did, in spite of the pouring rain. It was a privilege to shoot their wedding, as Sel’s dad is the president of WPPP or Wedding and Portrait Photographers of the Philippines. Having a photographer for a father, Sel was at ease in every shot and every click. Ger on the other hand, although shy, proved to be the perfect partner for Sel. I hope you enjoy these glamorous and beautiful photos of Sel and Ger! _______________ Suppliers: Photo: Paolo Nierves Gown: Jazel Sy Make-up: Mariah Santos Coordination: Hip Events Videography: Treehouse Story Florist: Gary Dacanay Mindworks Caterer: Baguio Country Club Emcee: Lowell Apostol [shareprints gallery_id=”64656″ gallery_type=”masonry” gallery_position=”pos_center” gallery_width=”width_100″ image_size=”medium” image_padding=”5″ theme=”dark” image_hover=”zoomin” lightbox_type=”slide” comments=”true” sharing=”true”]

Kiara and Aldrin | Edsa Shangri-la Wedding

I once mentioned that Kiara and her family hold a special place in my heart. After shooting her sibling’s weddings in the past and her Tinghun a few months ago, it is a privilege and a pleasure to shoot her wedding. We were all excited that despite the gloomy weather, everyone was in a celebratory mood. Everyone was congratulating Kiara and Aldrin, laughing with one another and enjoying each other’s company. Deep within my heart, I hoped for a beautiful and bright future of these two. I’ve always loved weddings, but most especially weddings that are close and dear to my heart. I hope that you’ll enjoy Kiara and Aldrin’s down to earth and lovely wedding, as much as I enjoyed shooting it. _________ Suppliers: Photo: Dino Lara Video: Bob Nicolas Coordination: Christine Ong Te Events Make-up: Irene Sy Go Event Styling: Event Styling Kathy Sy King Bridal Gown: Larry Espinosa Emcee: Max Tiu Lights and Sounds: High Impact Events Band: Da capo Musicians Venue: Edsa Shangri-la [shareprints gallery_id=”72307″ gallery_type=”masonry” gallery_position=”pos_center” gallery_width=”width_100″ image_size=”medium” image_padding=”5″ theme=”dark” image_hover=”zoomin” lightbox_type=”slide” comments=”true” sharing=”true”]

Angel and Bryan | Balesin Wedding Photographer

It is often said you can never fully appreciate something until you have lost it. And in this current health crisis that we are going through, a lot of things have been taken away from us. It’s tough for almost everyone and there is no end-in-sight. We can feel sorry and worried. But we can also choose to feel grateful and hopeful, and looking at the photos from the wedding of Angel and Bryan makes me feel just that. Just a few weeks ago, we were able to travel, to interact closely with people, to document love in all its limitlessness. While that is a total turnaround to how curtailed we are now, it can also be a motivation to wait and to do our part so we can go back to experiencing these same glorious moments again. I invite you to savor each frame from today’s feature. The outdoors, the flowers, the smiles, the interactions, the freedom and every little thing we so miss dearly these days. Most of all, savor the undeniable and truly enviable love between Angel and Bryan. I bet that if there are people who don’t mind this quarantine, it will be these two. It’s easy to get lost in all the disorder that’s happening and I’m grateful that I have great memories, like witnessing this wedding, to hold on to. I hope that by looking at these wonderful photos, you feel the same hope and the same overflowing lust for life that we do. […]

Joy and Ian | A Conrad Manila Hotel Intimate Wedding

The pandemic has had all of us second-guessing so many things but in the same breathe, it also had taught us to be deliberate, to do things with intent and without the urge to look-back. Loved ones leave us, business opportunities disappear, we get old, and the world will continue to fuck us, so we learn to, well, fuck back by seizing the moments with no hesitation – and not just any moment, we seize THE moments. ‘THE moments’ for Metrophoto are our shoots with our clients. We have been quite good at making the most out of those opportunities before, but none so more than now. We realize that concepts should not sit on a list waiting for the right time or the right people;  we need to look them in the eye and tick them off as much as we could; In weddings, this means that we go to an event with a customized shoot plan in mind. With all the protocols and restrictions in place right now, it leaves less time for ‘winging’ things. The shoot plan keeps us safe and guided, makes us efficient, and opens up opportunities. It may not be too evident in the photos we feature today, but things could be worse and difficult (photos uglier) if we didn’t embrace being more decisive. Thus, we welcome you to see the photos from the wedding of Joy and Ian. They’re still the same photos you’ll expect from Metrophoto; what’s not apparent is that these […]

Giezelle and Milfen | A Manila Intimate Wedding

As much as I enjoy shooting big and glamorous celebrations, I always appreciate the opportunity to creatively capture the still and quiet elegance that comes with beautiful intimate weddings. Even without the health restrictions of these times, Giezelle and Milfen had already decided early on that they would first like to hold an intimate wedding at the San Juan Trial Court before they started planning for their bigger wedding celebration. Within the limited space of the courthouse, the couple managed to create a warm and pleasant space that they felt was the perfect spot for them to promise forever to one another. As they walked towards the judge that would pronounce them wed, the couple was absolutely glowing with so much love and light. Giezelle was truly a vision to behold; her unnerving smile and her pageant-queen beauty definitely stole the show, leaving no doubt for those around as to why Milfen fell in love with her in the first place at first sight! When the time came for Giezelle and Milfen to exchange their vows, it became a lot clearer as to why they opted for a courthouse wedding first before planning their large-scale wedding celebration; the couple wanted to have a wedding for just the two of them first, an intimate occasion where they could pour their hearts out to one another as freely as they pleased. Giezelle and Milfen’s celebration of love culminated with a superb wedding reception, where the couple celebrated their first night as man […]

Camila Lhuillier and Andrea Albani | Italy Wedding

There are those serendipitous moments where life seemingly “ruins” your much-awaited plans only to make room for something much grander than you could have dreamt up for yourself. This was definitely the case for Camille and Andrea, as they had initially planned for a wedding in Italy sometime in late 2020, which had to be cancelled due to borders shutting down for the better part of that year. In its place, the couple held an intimate ceremony at Camille’s family-run Palacio de Memoria in July 2020. Although they were ecstatic about their union, in the back of their minds Camille and Andrea were still thinking of the dream wedding that could’ve been theirs in Italy were it not for the circumstances out of their control. They decided to stay patient until the time was right to fully celebrate with their nearest and dearest. Fast-forward to May 2022 in the beautiful and quaint La Posta Vecchia hotel in Rome, Italy. Camille and Andrea’s patience definitely paid off: they were finally able to have a church wedding and resplendent reception surrounded by their families and friends all gathered together to celebrate with the happy couple and create lifelong memories. This was one of those weddings wherein every single detail really spoke to the kind of brilliant couple Camille and Andrea are. La Posta Vecchia was the perfect venue for this celebration in that the grounds exuded a warmth and vibrancy that really elevated all the joy and happiness surrounding the couple’s special […]

Mariane and Alvin | A Panglao Bohol Wedding

Bringing you back to that wonderful day in Bohol several weeks ago when Mariane and Alvin celebrated their love in one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in the country. The wedding was stunning and yet had that laidback feeling, and the only thing that overcame the scorching heat that day was the warmth of the people that took part in it, especially Mariane and Alvin. You wish the day never ended, but we’re happy to have all these photos to share with you again to bring you back to the wedding that brought us all back in time. Enjoy.
